Well, if he's fighting you, you can hurt him (not bad though)
-
Could you imagine pooping you gi and then talking to your instructor?

I'm not sure either, I thought a friend told me that -
What exactly is a reverse blade sword?
KaratekaAikidoist replied to KaratekaAikidoist's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
and how do you know? -
I'd choose bokken, already having one, because the bo and bokken weigh about the same. Also the bokken is easier to manuever and you eventually can work to sword.

Is archery a fighting art?
KaratekaAikidoist replied to KaratekaAikidoist's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
Well, I know some bow arts are considered martial arts. I'm just asking if a regular compound bow is a fighting art. I'm not taking an art. I'm saying if I just took up plain archery, is it considered a fighting art. -
Just checking in, dragon, did you make one?
-
I practice for 5 hours but only on saturdays. Most of the time, its 1 and a half hours

I heard pushing in and down on someones throat kills them. About the neck thing, my dad's done that to me. It only hurts a little
-
I don't think you'd get hurt, and you may get enough knowledge so that if you showed a real practioner he'd know what you were doing but I don't suggest it.

If its a Kama with a chain and weight at the end, its a kusara kama. The only art I know that uses it is ninjutsu. I'm not sure if there is much difference between a kama except the chain. Ask rich, he'll know
-
Sorry Rich, didn't mean to be rude. I thought I thanked you. The reason those schools aren't taking my interest is that I'm not close to any of them. I've said before, I live in the middle of nowhere. Another reason is I can't drive because I'm too young. No offense, those schools are fine, but I'm no where near them. I've looked for a dojo nearby and the ones I do find, don't call back or don't have a number I can find. And do the ninjutsu dojo's still participate in all the ninja "activities" such as powder making and such?

Come on! ANSWER SOMEONE!!!!!!! -
Yea, thats true P.S. Ninjanurse, do you know how to make smoke bombs? seriously.
-
You could do that. Just rip off some wood parts. LOL
-
A little late, Dragon? lol
-
well, most people wouldn't. There are tons of things you can use as weapons.
-
Well, in a bar fight, a pool stick could be used as a bo or you could break it in two for escrima sticks. Most of these weapons came from Japanese and Chinese farming equipment. If you want to take a weapon art, do it but make sure you don't hurt yourself or ne thing. I prefer bokken or sword.

bo, wood, graphite, aluminum, or fiberglass?
KaratekaAikidoist replied to chuck_girl's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
I've heard wood is good (that rhymes, lol) Make sure you don't get a "toothpick" bo because these people go to tournaments with a bo thats really thin and don't get the feel of the weapon. -
Sometimes I use Sha "healing" during meditation I find it gives you more stamina but thats likely just in my mind
-
As my friends have told me, I'm martial arts obsessed. So I'd definetly go. Although, make sure you know the techniques well.

Is archery a fighting art?
KaratekaAikidoist replied to KaratekaAikidoist's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
I know the ninja used bows but this wasn't it. Its main feature was the state of mind the archer is in, I think it started with a k. I just want to know if archery has any fighting value even though your not likely to have a bow with you on the street. -
I've heard of a MA that uses a 6ft bow. It has a lot of mental preperation and such before you actually "fire" but I don't know the name. I've decided to take up archery after my grandpa gave me his very old compound bow. Granted, this is not a martial art, is archery still considered a fighting art? I was interested because I don't feel there is any art in pulling a trigger on a gun or on a crossbow and I wanted to try this.
