Hey i hear ya.

kicking with the ball of your foot or the instep?
mikS replied to Shotokan_Fighter's topic in Karate
You're simply WRONG. The shin feels like getting hit with a thin, metal pole. Trust me, PLEASE, the ball of the foot is not as effective as the shin. Considering you've never been kicked, how can you refute this? -
Do you know how much cardio bodybuilders do? Usually AT LEAST 60 minutes a day. They aren't gonna get tired.

Sorry, but large muscles don't affect your flexibility.

Using Tall for an excuse..
mikS replied to The Tall Bamboo's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
OH MAN ME TOO! I get the SAME THING. I will be sparring with my blackbelts my age, and giving them a good fight, often winning. Then afterwards they will say, man you are so tall, thats why you win. I'm like um no....its because i train ahrd. -

Why does everyone use the name "karate"
mikS replied to TJS's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
YEs, its true. Someone once asked me what MA i did, and i said Karate. THey said what kind, tae kwon do or what? I was just like um....karate! -
Thats an easy one! I woudl definitely master ONE art than be shittyat several.
-
Karate wasn't made for fighting? What WAS it made for then? it WAS made for fighting. Please know something about your art before you go on about respecting it.

I usually train 5 days a week for about two hours each time, some times more, sometimes less, i think about five classes are per day, 6 days a week.

If you feel the need to prove yourself, then you will not be able to.

Drunken Boxing
mikS replied to Drunkenboxer's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Actually, the idea of the art was to train you to deceive the enemy into thinking that you were drunk. If they thought you were drunk, they woudl hugely underestimate you, then the drunken boxer (who wasn't actually drunk) would kick their a$$. -
Yes, you are 100% correct.
-
Oh never mind!
-
edit edit edit!
-
Yeah, i feel exactly the same way.
-
You may think this is a bad thing, but by NOT training for competition, you are getting more of what karate was really like, rather than sport karate. Oh yes, please no one take offense, but i must comment that in my opinion tournaments are BS.

Drunken Boxing
mikS replied to Drunkenboxer's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
I hope you are joking about the "aren't you supposed to be drunk while learning drunken boxing thing". -
It is possible that the person killed had a medical condition that made him very susceptible to impact to the chest. It is also possible that the impact occured during the tiny TINY amount of time the heart is vulnerable to impact force. This is why people die from being hit in the chest with a baseball. And PLEASE, no one tell me i do not kno wwhat i am talking about, because i do.

If you think one good punch to the solar plexus will finish most people, you are gravely mistaken. Usually during fights, people don't feel bodyshots until afterwards. Have you been in many fights? Trust me on this one unless you have a punch like mike tyson then only attack the body if the face is guarded.

Um, don't mean to be insulting, but MUSICAL FORMS??? WHY??? What kind of TMA or any MARTIAL art......i dunno that just sounds weird and stupid. no offense!
