  1. If i remember correctly it was UFC has nothing to do with real fight.......wasnt it or.....ummm.......did you conveniently forget that???????
  2. The point wasnt standup vs striking was it.
  3. SAme for me but i have managed finally to get rid of those inaffective Karate techniques.
  4. I do Muay Thai and have been for a while but i would really like to do some BJJ to make me a a bit more rounded. Or maybe some Krav Maga. How about you?
  5. Nice one TJS I could not agree more. I think that almost closes argument. TJS wins the fight with UFC moves only whilst G95 and others fail to apply their curious techniques. Ha HA
  6. Ignore him.
  7. To Say UFC has nothing to do with fighting is ridiculous because its saying that they cant fight. Else if they can fight but not in the UFC ring that does not make sence as it is what they train for. Besides I doubt most people would stand any chance if they did anything they wanted and the UFC guys stuck to UFC rules in a real fight. If you think they can have a real fight then UFC is related to a real fight. I wouldnt fancy my chances against Randy Couture. Dont know about you???
  8. Yes I respect your opinion but begginers should not be sparring. Less experienced people who want to spar can go light but still make contact. I would never go no contact. Thats my point. I totall agree sparring should be light for begginers but i would still make contact and if they have no control i would not let them spar. As is the case in my gym.
  9. Its difficult because for MA you need to turn the pain off instantly. Take some pain killers before you go training. Deep Heat helps
  10. No.......................... I haven't
  11. Nice responce, I would say for lower ranks that the sparring should be lighter and if on a regular basis contact does not have to be full power but can be full speed without doing a ton of damage. I still think there is a difference between hitting a bag where you are thinking about what you are doing and working off reflexes in fast sparring when it comes to range. I dont think sparring to the point of serious injury is at all wise but i think full contact means full speed and making proper contact but not needing to let the punch or whatever go all the way through. Unless you are training for a fight. Begginers can go light and slowbut still be making solid contact. It will hurt a little but do no damage, thats still full contact. So i still dont see a great deal of use for no contact sparring.
  12. I think full contact sparring is as close as you can get to a real fight and is very useful. There is no reason to stick to a set stance or anything in full contact sparring and a punch landed is just by how muchj it hurt and not if it was a text book punch. I think too many people have a clouded view of full contact sparring because they dont do it. Plenty of doormen and women use full contact systems very effectively so Neil you are just plain wrong on that. How can it be in effective, the opponent in no way goes along with what you are doing and resists with maximum effort. You are learning to hit a real opponent in the right place properly and at full speed. And believe me they dont want to get hit and nor do you. I would say thats about as close to a real fight as you can get in a training situation and I still dont see where no cantact sparring fits in!
  13. I cant see the point in no cantact sparring. What is the point in learning how to just miss when you punch someone. In my opinion this leads to a slight error in range judgement in actual fighting. In fact, i cant see any advantage in no contact sparring so i am hoping some of you out there cant give me a clue!
  14. Thank you SupaNinjaz thats what i mean its just not that easy to break a knee but a solid punch to the chin.........i dont know many who can take much of that.
  15. I think kickers dont like to get in close and are generally less aggresive.
  16. Hey Rich where abouts are you in England?

Martial arts are designed to kill, self defence is not necessarily. If you take martial arts for self defence thats fine but dont pretend that its not meant to be able to kill. Most MA are derived from the battle field at some point so keep it real.
  18. I gaurantee that if you fight back hard you will feel alot better for it. Those are school rules you have to fight back im afraid. Just do it but dont go mad stay calm your not fighting for you life but make sure they are under no illusions as to who is best. Let us know how you get on and good luck mate.

    Touch of Death

I doubt it would cause death because it would have to be very powerful. Bit of a joke really just because everyone says it will work but no one has tried it. Not a good idea. Thats the kind of nonsence i was after.

    Touch of Death

Oh so youve tried that have you?
  21. Ok so i would like to hear from those of you who have those weird ways of killing people instantly that you think work. Like being able to touch someone and kill them or put your hand down their throat and kill them etc.
  22. No such thing, why would you want a belt anyway?
