Good Topic!! When I was a young lad I wanted to take anything. I didnt care, but since we didnt have the money I couldnt. Then I remember seeing a place that taught....aww crap....whats it called.... ....not kickboxing.....muay thai thats it. I wanted to take that, but couldnt, then I moved to oklahoma, and wanted to take kung fu, then karate and karate is what im taking. I want to keep with it and also take kung fu and juijitsu some day!

Its good to hear women can be the same as men in this feild. The same type of thing goes for practicly anything not just MA's. Like, my ex used to hang out at her ex's house with his parents and his sister cuz his sister was her other best friend(other than me). I used to get jelious when she would go over there and feel wierd about it but I needed to realize that that was one thing she enjoyed and I should have respected that more. So beka, any guy who cant respect your love for the martial arts isnt worth your time now. good luck

Yea, I think the biggest thing is that I was ready to marry her and so I thought I would never have to go through break ups and all the bad stuff again because I really trusted her. Bruce Lee did something simalar to that. He would focus on one person in a room and watch there movements..(yea I know, kinda creepy if you ask me), but as they would begin to do something such as pick up a fork or begin to speak or raise their arm he would let out a sublite quite grunt or tense up as if he were to strike or block. This does increase reaction time thereforth increase responce to situations....but noticing whats all around you is good too...very good.

Ironberg....sounds like you've done your homework....and I agree with pretty much everything you've said. But the down fall is is that no matter who you find and how much "you" think things are going great, you could be wrong and end up like me .

Your young...dont worry about a life partner. When I thought I was about to get married by the end of the year it sounded good. But now that I realize im not....im glad. I wouldnt have the chance anymore to get out there and meet new people or do my own thing. I think the best thing for you(and me) right now would just meet people. If you find one to go on a date with great!!! Dont expect anything too serious. If that happens it happens. Just go with the flow. If you find a great girl and want something serious talk to her. I found out girls want you to voice your opinion and talk to them. Dont hold your feelings inside. I know confrentation sucks but its better than confusion for months.
