George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, First Chief Justice John Jay, names synonymous with the spirit of our country. Founding Fathers of the U.S.A. Over 200 years ago they shook off the chains of tyranny from Great Britain by divine call. Citing 27 biblical violations they wrote the Declaration of Independence, "...With liberty and justice for all..." But something happened since Jefferson called the Bible the cornerstone for American liberty and then put it in our schools as a light. Or since Patrick Henry said, 'Give me liberty or give me death." Our country was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We eliminated God from the equation of American life, thus eliminating the reason this nation first began. From beyond the grave I hear the voice of our Founding Fathers plead, "You need God in America again." Of the 55 men who formed the Constitution, 52 were active members of their church. Founding Fathers like Noah Webster who wrote the first dictionary could literally quote the Bible chapter and verse. James Madison once said, 'We've staked our future on our ability to follow the Ten Commandments with all our heart." These men believed you couldn't even call yourself an American if you subvert the Word of God. In his farewell address, Washington said, "You can't have national morality apart from religious principle," and it's true because right now we have nearly 150,000 kids carrying guns to these war zones we call public schools. In the '40s and '50s student problems were chewing gum and talking. In the '90s, rape and murder are the trend. The only way this nation can even hope to list this decade is to put God in America again. Abe Lincoln said, 'The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation will be the philosophy of government of the next." So when you eliminate the Word of God from the classroom and politics you eliminate the nation that Word protects. America is now number one in teen pregnancy and violent crime, number one in illiteracy. drug use and divorce. Every day a new holocaust of 5,000 unborn die while pornography floods our streets like open sewers. America's dead and dying hand is on the threshold of the church while the spirit of Sodom and Gomorrah vex us all. When it gets to the point that people would rather come out of the closet than clean it, it's the sign that the judgment of God is gonna fall. If there's ever been a time for the church to rise up it's now. As the blood bought saints of the living God proclaim that it's time to sound the alarm from the Church house to the White House and say, "We want God in America again." I believe it's time for America to stand up and proclaim that one nation under God is our demand and send this evil lifestyle back to Satan where it came from and let the Word of God revive our dying land. History tells us time and time again to live like there's no God makes you a fool. If you want to see kids live right stop handing out condoms and start handing out the word of God in schools. We need God in America again. The above is taken from a song by Carman called "America Again." I wish everyone could see the video. When my dad died he was given a full military funeral by the Monmouth (IL) V.F.W. and the Abingdon (IL) American Legion Post, both of which he was a lifetime member. It was an awesome thing to see that coffin draped with an American flag that he had fought for on the beaches of Normandy in WWII. It was an experience that I will never forget to see the presentation of the colors and watch and listen to a 21-gun salute given by fellow veterans of that war. I don't know how anyone could have kept from crying when "Taps" was played and the flag was folded and presented to my stepmother, even if you hadn't known my dad. When the vet in charge handed Ellouise that folded flag that had just covered my dad's coffin and said, "On behalf of the government of the United States of America we present to you this flag in honor of our comrade who has fallen," I lost it. The men from the Legion and V.F.W. performed their part of the funeral with such a solemn dignity that it made me even prouder to live in the U.S.A. and to be the son of a WWII vet. Those men had fought for something and it showed in their faces. I am sure that many of those men may not have even known my dad, but it was easy to see that they felt he was their friend by the way they carried out their tasks. Many have died in the service to this nation. Some have sacrificed everything to keep America free. Nine of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence died from wounds and hardships of the Revolutionary War. Two lost their sons in the Revolutionary army and two others' sons were captured by the British. Five of them were captured themselves by the British and were tortured to death as traitors. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Carter Braxton lost his ships to the British Navy and sold his home to pay his debts and died in rags. Thomas McKean served in Congress without pay and kept his family in hiding. He lost all of his earthly possessions and died in poverty. At the Battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson found that British General Cornwallis had taken over his family home for his headquarters. Nelson urged George Washington to open fire on his own home and it was destroyed in the battle that ensued. Nelson died bankrupt. On and on it goes. The America that these men and my dad fought for is quickly passing away as well. I agree with Carman, "We need God in America again."
