  1. i always thought beginner is a white belt.
  2. thanks. just 2 more days now
  3. Awwwwe. So we're both cute, little ones. and thank you geogiant! =]
  4. i might be older than you (im 32) But I'm younger than most of the other people at the dojo plus the lowest ranked female. So i'm the cute, little one and thanks, Bob-sensei and Patrick!
  5. not everyone's good with children that for sure. My sensei once told me he doesn't teach kids because he'd end up in jail.
  6. yeah i know I'm cute =] Hehe. Kidding. You're not the only one who thinks so. The others at my dojo think so too. Cause I'm the baby there. they said they like following the journey of their little one.
  7. Practice makes permanent =] I learned that from a sandan.
  8. Muy thoughts is that you are a very smart man, Bob-sensei. I knew a white belt who went into a sparring competition and came out with a silver medal. I agree the black belt can be defeated and I have a feeling that attitude can be the black belt's undoing! When I begin to sparr for the first time i will not develop the attidude that i am invincible. not even if i become a black belt. Don't say "if", believe in yourself at all times, and in that, say...WHEN!! Oooooooooooh, that's right! WHEN!! I give myself uraken for that.
  9. I am going to be testing for my orange belt (7th kyu) in Shotokan Karate a week from today. (next Friday, December 10th) I am soooo looking forward to it! Excited and nervous about it at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Well then, I'll have my fingers crossed for you too!
  12. The tournament went well. MY sensei was there and I bronze medalled in kata for heian nidan. I didnt do the kumite after because my senseis recommended against it. They said I only been training a little over a year and those Chito Ruy/taekwondo/whatever other MA were in that tournament were pretty rough and had little control. Sensei wants me to learn kumite within our own organization (which is very good and teaches a lot of control) I agreed with that. My senseis are my friends and I trust them. So I didnt sparr. But I have the sparring gloves and mouth piece for next year btw My sensei came to me, hugged me and said I represent my dojo very well am a good representative. Did a nice Heian Nidan too. After that he came to me and said I will have a grading for orange belt in two weeks. Dec. 3rd. I look forward to it and said Thank you sensei. I am a happy panda.
  13. I know, my nick is manly Yep. I am yellow belt. For about another 2 weeks. and the tournament went well. I am gonna make a thread.
  14. Thanks peeps. Yeah I've a good diet and am in pretty good shape. Also been training working on my stuff..... Her, actually =] Its ok, everyone who's not familiar with me mistakes me for a man on forums. I think its funny.
  15. Oh shotokai.....Yeah I read about your style. Split from us because you guys believed that karate is much more of a personal thing improving yourself so that competing would kind of detremental to that. Yes I read about you folks. And MAP is a MA forum I post on, I posted my post from there onto here too so that I could get advice from both sides. instead of just one forum. Maybe someone from here might give advice that a MAP'er wouldnt have saidand vise versa. anyways, thanks for the advice! I'll let ya all know what happens this weekend!
  16. I posted about my first grading here before and now i can't find my thread
  17. You see, I'm going to a tournament on the 20th of Nov 2010 (hosted by another organization but they always invite us to take part) where since I am yellow belt now, I can kumite for the first time, unlike my Kata tournament of almost a year ago where I couldnt sparr cause i was a little white belt. This time, I can do both Kata (i will do heian nidan) and kumite if there is a sparring partner for me. I got kata advice almost a year ago from you nice MAP 'ers here. Could I possibly now get some Kumite advice as well? Thank you, Blade.
