  1. 12-11-2008 well today I did 20 pushups on my knuckles, 40 cruches, 20 leg raises, 40 reverse crunches, 10 pushups with my hands forming a triangle, 80 squats I try to stick to this workout because it uses most of the major muscles used, then after than, I practiced punches kicks, and my kata
  2. well, my friend, he has a garage that we can use, its decent size, but the floor is concrete, and we need pads incase a person falls, and we cant purchase off the internet... thats the only issue now
  3. before I started training in Isshinryu Karate, I was like a turtle that would never come out of its shell, but now, I'm in the best shape of my life, and I have alot of self-esteem, and respect for others
  4. In my school, I have a friend thats in wrestling, and I wanted to learn karate, but I had to find a dojo because the school doesn't and wont teeach it because its more physical with less padding then most sports, wrestling is mainly grappling and submission
  5. with the grown up, 5
  6. yea, I should've been more clear, because the dojo I went to closed a while ago, I have been practicing everything I'v learnt, but I want to do other things beside push-ups, etc. I want somthing harder and has better benifits in builting strong muscle

  9. I have no equipment, and I do all types of push ups, sit-ups, and crunchs, and a few other excerszes, but I was wondering, are there other things I could do for a good warm up?
  10. well, I'v never seen anything out of the ordinary myself, but I seen gi wear the person irons it so much that it has like permanent creases at the shoulders, I wash mine twice a week, but I never ironed it
  11. When I do a roundhouse kick, I kick with the back leg, I use the instep, and I usally aim for the body, rarely the head
  12. wow, thats a good question, but I would say, just do more classes helping with speed and blocking, because then, a person can block most attacks in a fight, and you can do that untill your opponent is tired, so you'll be unharmed, other then that, I would be at a lose for a solution too.
  13. same a white owl, I always wanted to try it, but I'm terrified of needles
  14. I watch DBZ as a kid, I wanted to be like them but now, I just want to know what to do in a "situation" and, where I live, I have very little to do
  15. thats not right, part of learning MA is self-discpline, how did they even make it to black belt?
  16. my sensei did that with me, he purposly left himself open to see what I would do, afterwards, he said good job on not hesitating to hit him
  17. in the school I went to, the only belts with the strips were "lil' dragons" the childs classes, but the belts were split horizontaly in the middle so there were no sides, we were never though any specific way of tieing oue belt, but I remember my sensei's strip for his black belt was always on his left too
  18. well, in the school I went to, I only seen 2 black belts in class, my sensei, he was a 2nd degree black belt and sensei Joe Swift, but as far as I remember, we didn't have junior ranks
  19. my school that I went to, the dan ranks were displayed by strips on the end of the belt, i'm not really sure of what else though
  20. wow, thanks for the warm welcome
  21. well I'm a white belt, and just for what I'v been through, I can deal with more pain than most of my non-MA friends
  22. well, I don't think it would really be easy for me to explain because I'm 15 but I wouldn't mind because if a person yunger than me is soppose to intruct, the main sensei must know wha he/she is doing
  23. well, what I have in mind is, we cover to basic exercises and learn just like in a regular dojo, without the amount of sparring, there will always be an adult watching, just to keep an eye over things, what I'm trying to think of now is a place to work as a "sub" dojo, everything else that you guys have gone over, I have thought about and I have solutions, thanks for advice and just so you know, the age group is 14-15, with one adult
  24. I was about to graduate to a yellow belt, all I know is the Seisan kata, also the group of friends, because we were already learning, we all have gloves a mouth gaurd and foot pads, the highest ranking that would be in the group is green belt
