SaiFightsMS Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 As a point of trivia the taikokyu's, fukyukata's and gekisai dai katas are actually the same katas practiced by different groups.

GrrrArg Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 Taigyoku Shodan, which is apparently also similar to Heian Shodan as well as the others Sai mentioned.
CheekyMusician Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 Taikyoku Shodan. We don't bother with the other Taikyoku katas, though. After Taikyoku Shodan we just start learning the Heians. Smile. It makes people wonder what you've been up to.

tommarker Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 I've always wondered how much a person's fighting style could be influenced if they learned something like the 3 Naihanchi/Tekki before moving to the Pyung Ahn/Bassai/Kong Sang Koon family forms. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
