Martial_Artist Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 I never said I expect to receive anything. I said it is hard for people to be chivalrous when most people do not appreciate it. This has nothing with being selfless. If I save your life I will not expect you to say thank-you. I would appreciate it if you did, but I won't expect it nor hold it against you for not saying so. If I hold a door open for a woman and she does nothing, no thank-you, etc. I think nothing of it. I already said I don't it for any other reason other than that's just the way I am. I did say I do these things because I love the feeling of helping. In what way is this not selflessly? telsun Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 It was a general statement sperned by your comment. It was not directed at you personally and I do agree with you. Even more so with your last post. I keep asking God what I'm for and he tells me........."gee I'm not sure!"

GrrrArg Posted July 27, 2003 Author Posted July 27, 2003 Martial Artist just said what I was trying to say...again...grrr..*cries softly into pillow*
TKDShoujo Posted July 27, 2003 Posted July 27, 2003 Personally, I think chilvary is nice. Although I do agree with those of you who think it should be practiced by both men and woman. It's called common courtesy and whether you're a woman or man, you should still try and be helpful to other people. Female- 16 years old - Brown Belt 3rd grade.

No, I don't know. I have no idea what Valithor believes to be essentially female, or essentially male. I don't know him/her. I assume Valithor was not refering to physical differences, as it would be irrelevent to the thread. What am I ignoring? And how does it relate to the subject of this thread?
fireka Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 oh yea! bart your good at this, finnaly someone with professianal argument/debate experince. first let me tackle the last part. it is relevant to the thread because like in a court case were often times the definition of a single word like 'unaware' is the key between inocent and guilty (this happens alot, thell debate for days what one word in a clause means) it is essintial for us to understand the diffrences between men and women if we are to understand why women are targeted with chivalry and not men. i can not speak for valitor, so i will not try. i could also go sevral ways with this. i could explain the scientific research conducted to show how men and women have diffrent thought patterns and use diffrent parts of the brain. but i wont, because then id have to abridge it into something that makes since. so until valitor can respond to this ill say he simply reefers to the diffrences we all know about but choose not to say aloud because they are now considered politicaly incorrect. men and women are diffrent. there is no point in saying we arnt. its obvious. women on a general basis can not do everything men can do. and like wise men cant do everything women can do. (unless your Arnold Schewzenager) The big problem with the femminist party is that they belive proving them selves as able to do everything men can do makes them equal. will you femminist are working harder, not smarter, you should instead say its possible but then highlight the things women do well naturally and make them more important than the lies society has told. and im not saying cooking and cleaning because honestly, ive meet few women who could cook worth crap. The fact behind my statement was, if we are to understand that men and women are diffrent we will understand why women are treated with 'chivalry' as you all like to call it and not men. I really hope valitor comes back to say his point here so my giberish actually makes since. But just a curious note thats way of topic now that im steamed about the feminist thing: why do women want to be like men anyway? were slow, inflexable, narrowminded, accident prone, hormone driven, never in control of our own emmotions, and generally stupider than you! chh Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Um, generally speaking, feminists DON'T want to be like men. It's about equality, nothing to do with transgenderism.
