G95champ Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Have you ever played a old game called hot hands? Pretty much you lay your hands on mine (palm to palm) I try and smack your hands before you move them. When I miss its your turn to smack me. If you pull back 3 times and I did not attemp a smack I get a free hit. This game hurts like crap but you build good reflexes and reactions not to mention hand speed. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
Valithor Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Good game slapsies... Never thought to use it in the dojo.. have to think about that Keep Smiling!
GrrrArg Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 If you train in a school hall or somewhere similar you will often find gymnastics type climbing frames. The idea is to tie rope around your wrists and loop it through one of the bars to make a kind of a pulley system-this means when you punch if one hand is faster it will start to get the other one working at the same speed and the returning hand will help project the striking hand towards the target. You could also use two pieces of elasticated (bungee) rope tied to the wrists and the poles and use them as resistance aids.
