I do not know that much about kung fu (yet :brow: ) but I do know that TKD is very aerobic. Muay thai may get you in shape faster though. You should check it out if you are interested in that kind of style.

dont think muay thai is right for me. i am poundering whether to choose kung fu (dont know for sure which style to train) or tkd. this post should help me deciding because physical fitness is most important to me :karate: followed by mental stuff like meditation.

Maybe boxing or cardio kickboxing? Those give quite a workout.

I don't have any experience with kung fu or taekwondo, but I'd imagine that Olympic Taekwondo would be good for what you want.

I've done both TKD and kungfu... Definately go for TKD if you want an aerobic workout. I hardly broke a sweat during kungfu, whereas my uniform would be soaked with sweat after a good TKD workout. But it also depends on the instructor. Some are tougher than others.

Out of those two, I'd definitely say TKD will give you a better aerobic workout.

Of all the styles I've tried, I've felt that Judo was the best overall exercise.

Currently: Kickboxing and variants.

Previously: Karate (Seido, Shotokan, Seidokan), Ju Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, Fencing.
