BKJ1216 Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 Well I really want to get in shape a little before karate. The reason is because I just need to get my body use to working out hard so I can continue to lose weight. The problem is my diet. I don't know why it is but I literally can't eat any vegtable. I don't know why it is either. It's like a fear. The first time I ever tried corn I puked, the first time I ever tried green beans I puked, and I even puked when I tried salad. I'm afraid to even eat any more vegtables because I've made the conclusion that all of them are gonna taste disgusting. Anyway if I ever can eat vegtables, does anyone have a low calorie, high protein diet? White Belt- Shudokan Karate
kchenault Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 What does your diet consist of at the moment? You have to be getting veggies from somewhere or you can't be very healthy, not to mention bound up in the intestines right now. I would go with a well balanced diet right now. Protein diets are good for fast weight loss, but the weight will not stay off in the long run. I speak from experience here. Get a grip on where you are at for your BMI (how overweight or underweight you are). You can find a BMI calculator on the web. Then check out fitness sites like: https://www.mensfitness.com or https://www.muscleandfitness.com for some good training workouts and diet plans. Cardio is key to losing the fat and keeping the muscle. Check out these sites and give it a go. Also, if you don't eat veggies because you don't like the taste, I would recommend you suck it up and eat them anyway. Otherwise, see an allergy specialist to find out what you can eat and what you can't. Pilsung! Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
BKJ1216 Posted March 1, 2003 Author Posted March 1, 2003 Well this morning I tried a carot. I heard somewhere that your tastebuds change every 7 years, so I decided I'd give it a try. The taste was fine, but the problem was the texture. I started chewing it and imidatley I started gagging. I'm going to try and get a diet plan, and just try and suck it up. I can tell you right up front that I am severly overweight for my age, I'm 14 5'8" and 285 pounds. White Belt- Shudokan Karate

BonnyBoy Posted March 1, 2003 Posted March 1, 2003 Hmm, I don't mind my vegies so much now... I used to loathe them when I was a kid, hide them and then refuse to eat them. They taste nice with gravy on them! I'll give you a link to some notes I took when I changed my deit about a month a go.. I have dropped 10lbs through cardio and maintained my weight since then. The last few kilos seem to be particularly stubborn and I think I need some HIT cardio in the morning to boost my metabolism https://www.geocities.com/bjj_freak/Diet.html There are always two choices, two paths. One choice is easy and its only reward is it's easy.It takes sacrifice to be the best.
rb Posted March 1, 2003 Posted March 1, 2003 texture can be modified by cooking. At least eat lots of fruit. Or get inventive. Make beet sorbet or carrot and orange slushies or something.
