Chuck Norris passed away at 86!!

His family posted this on Instagram Friday morning, March 20, 2026…

"It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace."

While in Hawaii, Norris was hospitalized after suffering a “medical emergency “.

To his family and friends, I want to express my most heartfelt condolences for his passing.

I saw that this morning.  The best (short) tribute I have read so far was, "Chuck Norris decided it was time to leave.  Death kindly held the door open for him."   I had heard he was hospitalized yesterday, but this still came as a bit of surprise.

One of the running jokes online has been "Chuck Norris passed away 15 years ago, but death was afraid to tell him."

Photos being passed around the internet from Norris's funeral are fake.  Some AI photos went viral, but they are not real.  It's gross that people will create and spread false information to get some clicks, especially about a dead man, but that is the social media world we now live in. 

One of the obvious ways it was proven fake...his name was listed as "Charles Norris" on the casket.  His name was Carlos Norris.  So stupid. 

Chuck Norris and Walker Texas Ranger memorabilia is flying off the shelves.  Ebay and other websites are seeing a surge in people selling merch and autographs since his passing last week.  The cost of the merch is up to three times what it would have been the day before his death.  The demand and value of autographs go up right after a celebrity dies, and we are seeing that.  If you are considering purchasing autographed merchandise please be careful, there are lots of fakes out there.  Be sure that the autograph is verified by either PSA. JSA, or Beckett.  PSA is considered the gold standard, with JSA and Beckett coming in just behind them.  These brands have websites where you can check for authenticity.  Any item verified by these outlets will have a sticker with an item number that can be checked on their website. They also often come with a card and/or a letter, depending on the item, but they all have a number. 

For non-autographed items I have seen a lot of action figures and clothing, including a Walker Texas Ranger jean jacket that was going for 1,000 dollars. 

Not surprised at all. EBay is the king site for gouging people, and without any integrity. I remember that a single can of Lysol during the Covid-19 pandemic was $75 for a $5 item on EBay.

I am happy to see the outpour of Chuck Norris tribute songs that have shown up on YouTube since his passing.  I know they are mostly AI generated but some of them are catchy. 

More than four months after his death, a public memorial was held for Norris at the Rio in Las Vegas on July 18. Why so long and why Las Vegas? Well, I guess Norris was an annual attendee of the event, which is an International Training Conference for World Championship of the United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF). About 5,000 people attended the event. I am not familiar with this event or these organizations, but I guess Norris was involved. Also, Norris launched opened a Tang Soo Do school in Vegas back in the last 60s after the success of his schools in California, furthering his Vegas connection. Norris did not live in Vegas; he was born in Oklahoma and spent his adult life mostly living in California and later Texas. He died in Hawaii, but the family has not realized a cause of death.

The UFAF was Norris' organization and I am guessing that was the scheduled time for the UFAF International Training Conference. UFAF is the governing body of the Chuck Norris System, UFAF Krav Maga, and UFAF Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
