KarateKen Posted Friday at 08:31 PM Posted Friday at 08:31 PM How much sleep do you get on a typical night, and how much do you aim for?
sensei8 Posted Saturday at 05:46 AM Posted Saturday at 05:46 AM 3-4 hours. My goal is 6-7. **Proof is on the floor!!!
Nidan Melbourne Posted Saturday at 12:25 PM Posted Saturday at 12:25 PM 6 - 7 hours on average. depending on the time of year, I find that I operate better on a little less or a little more. But varies greatly on the time of year. Like this time of year, sun is going down a little bit earlier and I am finding that I am tired more often. So I'm getting on average 8-9 sometimes closer to 10 hours if needed.
crash Posted Saturday at 10:04 PM Posted Saturday at 10:04 PM 8 to 9 on average, which is what i aim for. i try to stay on a schedule of going to bed at the same time every night, no tv or radio playing, etc.... i wake between 630 and 7 every morning, dont use an alarm or anything that "jars" you awake.... and i never jump right up, i usually wait 15 to 20 minutes after waking before getting up.....(yeah, weird sleep habits i guess....lol)
bushido_man96 Posted Sunday at 12:50 AM Posted Sunday at 12:50 AM Maybe 6-7 hours. I'd like to get 8-9, but rarely do. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
sensei8 Posted Sunday at 03:39 PM Posted Sunday at 03:39 PM Studies show that the average person sleeps 8 hours. Hhmmm!! Oh, now I’m not average?!? **Proof is on the floor!!!

Sometimes recovery and adaptation is shorter in some people in comparison to others where they may need more than 8 odd hours sleep per night. I know when I have a heavy work week; I need at least 10 hours. on light a lot less. the last time I had 4 hrs sleep, I was the same where I felt off.
Zaine Posted Monday at 02:38 PM Posted Monday at 02:38 PM Sleep? I'm unfamiliar with the term. I shoot for 7 - 8, but often get 5 - 6 due to varying conditions. Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.https://www.instagram.com/nordic_karate/

I've know a few people over the years who tell me they get 3-4 hours a night, I figured they were either not being very honest or were a very rare exception. Most of us should be getting a lot more than that to be at our best. I aim for 7-9 hours of sleep, and I get that most night. If I am exhausted or not feeling well, and I have the time to do it, I aim for ten.
