Saw this trailer recently, before this this I wasn't sure how I felt about this film coming out, but since seeing this I certainly feel excited for it now! looks much better than I was expecting...

Admittedly, I’ve never followed the life of Ralph Macchio for no particular reasons. Watching a YouTube clip last night of The Kelly Clarkson Show, her guests were Ralph Macchio, Jackie Chan, and Ben Wang.

Kelly starts her interview by asking Ralph, “4 years after the first movie, you earn something pretty big by, right? Which I thought was cool.”

After 41 years, Ralph earned his black belt in Okinawa Goju-ryu this April 2025. Better late, than never.

Ralph and his Karate Kid: Legends co-stars received an honorary black belt for the World Karate Federation (WKF) during the film’s New York premier in May 2025.

Just for grins and giggles, at the shows first commercial break, the daughter, a black belt, and granddaughter, a blue belt, in full gi and Obi, of 9th Dan Grandmaster Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura, the founder of World Seido Karate took the show to break.

I think this movie was always going to have a hard time because of it releasing so close to the end of Cobra Kai, which was so well-received. If it couldn't have been tied in directly to Cobra Kai, it might have been better for it to have a little breather. With that said, here's a picture of some of the marketing in Hollywood!

I can't get over the feeling of really, really wanting it to follow Cobra Kai. The fact that it won't makes it uncertain if I'll see it... but I suspect I will end up doing so!

I thought it mentioned above that it is three years post Cobra Kai.  Do you mean you wanted it to follow right after?

I'm interested in seeing how they tie the Jackie Chan story line in with the original story line, seeing as the Jackie Chan re-make appeared to be more of a reboot that they are now retconning.

I guess what I mean here is the lack of actors. Outside of Macchio and a brief appearance by (not going to spoil it), there isn't much crossover.
