Shogun by James Cavell

When I first read Shogun many, many years ago, the Japanese characters spoke Japanese. This 2023 publication has the Japanese characters speaking English, which truly, isn't my cup of tea.

I’ve been digging through some old books in the attic for re-reads. I just started Star Wars: Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn. It’s the 20th anniversary edition so they had the author put in footnotes about what he was thinking for each of his decisions. Really fun idea! Has anyone else seen that before?HeirMedium.png.dd5684a9d664f4114e54610cb37040c6.png

I'm working my way through the Stranger Things Omnibus Volume 1. It's a collection of official Stranger Things comics which tell the stories on TV, but also new stories before and after. For example, there is one that follows Six (like Eleven, but obviously she was earlier, haha).

Right now I'm re-reading "Oathbringer" by Brandon Sanderson (book 3 of the Stormlight Archive).  He will be releasing book 5 this December, and I'm doing a re-read so everything is fresh in my memory when book 5 hits the streets.

Haunted Reno by Janice Oberding.

Since I made a trip to Reno this summer, I decided to read something spooky about the city.  Perfect time of year for it.
