Good evening, and happy Easter.

I recently inherited one of my Sensei's Bo. I sanded both mine and the new one, and applied teak oil, buffed then off and they look beautiful.

Now I want to keep them safe!

Anyone recommend a nice case to use for daily transportation? Also, anyone make their own?

I take a lot of time before purchasing literally anything so I'm reaching out to our community to see what works for you all :)

Ty so much, kampai!

I use the hard side staff cases from Century Martial Arts. They are about $80 a piece and do a good job providing a rigid case for your bo. It is good for transport to and from the dojo.

@Fat Cobra

Thank you for that!

I will research it and add it to my list for sure.

I just carry the darn thing. However, I do like Fat Cobra's suggestion a lot. Please let us know, Fractured, what you decide.

Hi again,

So I decided to get the 73" version of this bo case. Its basic and should last me a while. One thing I will probably do is add a bit of leather to the bottom to keep it from damaging through.

Comfortably fits my oak and purple heart bo's.

Nice! I'm happy to hear that you found something that works for you, even if it might need some modifications.

A bo case?

Really?

Obviously you guys have never seen my beat up, dented and marred bo! lol I whack trees with mine, poles and fences. Basically, get used to hitting stuff with it. Gets to banged up, even broken, I get another one.

If you don't want to stand behind our troops, please..feel free to stand in front of them.

I wouldn't worry about having a case for mine, as the one I purchased a while back lives in 1 of 3 places;

1. Staff Office @ my Hombu Dojo

2. Car (when I have a car that I own)

3. Home

The only items I keep in a bag, are if I have multiple of an item or they may be "Prohibited" Items I keep them in something for easy transport. If I have to disclose them for inspection (i.e. if police request) I can pull them out without issue.

Century MA Supplies carries 5 Bo Staff Cases ranging from $40 to $80 to fit ones needs. Please let us know which Bo Case you decide on no matter if it's from CMAS or some other supplier.
