donn0425 Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 I need to get my kicks higher, especially my sidekick, however I seem to be pushing the limits of my current flexability, especially in the hips. Can someone please suggest some stretches I can do to increase my flexability so I can kick higher?
KickChick Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 This is possibly the most asked question we have here in the Health & Fitness forum!! Here are just "some" links to threads on this subject with more such links within these threads. You can also do a "Search" here on kick/ height/stretches which will pull up some more threads for you to access. http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=4944 http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=4368 http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=2300 Basically it come down to stretching those hip flexors! http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=4629
kchenault Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Check out the January issue of Martial Arts Presents magazine. It has a great article on stretching to achieve greater plastic flexibility. Billy Blanks is on the cover. Also try http://www.fitzness.com , great article on proper warming up and stretching. And last but not least, check out http://www.stadion.com for Thomas Kurz' series on stretching scientifically. Great resources one and all. Pilsung! Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
