Hey wuzzup im new to this and i basically dont kno ne moves or names or nuthin

 

I need help writing a screenplay cuz there are a few fight scenes but i dont kno ne real techniques that can make the screenplay more realistic.....can yall help me plz?

 

jus write descriptions on how to do specific moves n if ya can write a name...

well i mean what kinda techniques do you want? punches? kicks? throws? ill do anything i can do to help, i just need more info!

How realistic are you wanting to be? Are we talking ghetto-punks, or Bruce Lee's theatrical brutality (JKD), or the farfetched kung-fu from "The Matrix"? Are the characters skilled in martial arts or street-fighting (not that steet-fighting is always better-please don't misinterperate this), and do they possess weaponry.

 

Realistic Moves-

 

hook punch, hook kick to the head (much taller fighters), low-line kickin seen in Muay Thai, all kinds of boxing punches, Scissor kick takedown , Knee thrust, elbow smash...

 

Far-Fetched moves-

 

Shaolin twist stace to a "Shadow Kick" in a crane stance, Reverse ridge hand to a flip-over-the-head takedown. Three head kicks followed by a flying side kick. "Mr. Jet Li style..."

 

I hope your beginning to see my point.

I think the characters fighting should be more realistic, but theres basically two ranges of fighting in the screenplay; both street fighting and skilled martial artists.....

 

Right now kicking/punching techniques would be real helpful cuz the section im writing now includes those type of moves...

 

Plz help cuz i really dont kno much; theres already producers lookin at the intro and it will end up lookin like a kids movie if i dont get the moves right....thxxxx

As long as people aren't running and jumping off of walls and doing impossible backflips, you should be ok for realism. There's unfortunately a problem of realism vs. flash. Everyone wants to have flashy fight scenes, but nobody wants to be rolling their eyeballs in the theater.

 

As far as flash goes, speed is always good. Jumping-spinning kicks are acceptable, too.

 

As long as the technique does not require any kind of wire or acrobatic equipment to be executed, you should be okay. This will win you big points with hard-core martial artists

 

Mix it up: use different submission techniques such as wristlocks, in conjunction with your regular punches/kicks. If you're feeling really adventurous, you can even try throwing some props in the mix (e.g. Jackie Chan's use of a ladder in..."Rumble in the Bronx" I think, or the bamboo umbrella in "Drunken Master").

 

It all depends on the level of skill the actors/stuntmen have, or that you can access.

 

Find some skilled martial artists in your area, preferably instructors from a school that has a demonstration/performance team.

Actually, I think a fight choreographer would take care of the details on any fights in the screenplay. But I have been known to be wrong.
