sensei8
Welcome to KF; glad that you're here!!Seeing that you've already been diagnosed, I highly recommend that you adhere to whatever your doctor has advised you. Short of that, further injury might occur. In that, I'm not qualified to advise against a doctors recommendations.I know I'm of no help to you, but hopefully you can understand why!!I do hope that you feel better quite soon!! **Proof is on the floor!!! Nidan Melbourne
Go to a Physiotherapist or an Exercise Physiologist (AEP) for specific exercise. An AEP (Accredited Exercise Physiologist) will have more exercises readily available. For good shoes go to a Podiatrist, because they are most qualified to tell you and not anyone else. muttley
Hello and welcome to KF. Plantar fasciatis or policeman's heel...something I got diagnosed with a couple of years ago and its blooming painful. I had advice from guys I used to work with who told me to rst ice elevation compression for 24 hours. I did this and I bought some insole off amazon , can't remember the brand but they were cheap and worked. My feet are now much better, the plantar has gone for now which is useful. JR 137
I'm currently battling a round of this myself. Being a former athletic trainer (sports med, not personal trainer), I have some insight...Freeze water bottles and roll your feet over them after activityStretch often - put a towel on the ball of your foot and toes, and pull towards you; basically a calf stretch, only adding the toes to it. Hold for a minute or so at a time. Don't over do it, but get a thorough stretch.Always wear shoes or at least slippers, even in the houseGet some arch supportDon't let them go uncared for. Over the long term, you can develop bone spurs on your heel (inside surface facing your toes. Well fitting shoes that are tied to a long way. As stupid as it sounds, make sure your toe nails aren't too long.Shoes are only supposed to be worn for a certain number of miles. If you wear them daily and are on your feet a lot, 3 months is a good time for a new pair. 5 months is really pushing it. The heavier you are, the quicker they break down. I'm currently wearing wrestling shoes in the dojo, and running shoes everywhere else. I usually get it for a week or so every few months. This bout of it is going on 3 weeks. May have to see the doc for cortisone.
