Nidan Melbourne Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 What does everyone read online for Martial Arts? be it blogs, forums (KF is a definite must), articles, videos or whatever else onlineAnd how did you come across those sites?
Safroot Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 For me, I am just starting but what I am currently doing is: 1- KF for sure (found it while I was googling GKR)2- fight quest series on Youtube (found it through HAWKMOON)3- self defense articles (got the idea from one of the threads on KF)4- Various articles and videos about Kyokushin karate and Mas Oyama to understand my style more (most of them through Hawkmoon)5- kick strengthening exercises videos on Youtube (recommended by some members to improve my left leg kicks)Thanks Hawkmoon as most of what I am reading and watching were recommended by you "The Martial Arts begin with a point and end in a circle." Wastelander Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I use so many online resources that it isn't really feasible for me to list them all, and how I found them . Forums, blogs, and Facebook groups are at the top of that list, certainly. Since we're all on KF, already, I'll list some of my favorite online resources that I use, in no particular order:Ryan Parker Sensei's Blog, YouTube Channel, and Facebook Groups:http://ryukyuma.blogspot.com/https://www.youtube.com/thecontemplative2https://www.facebook.com/groups/501758733240876/https://www.facebook.com/groups/160114070866098/https://www.facebook.com/groups/457739570935457/https://www.facebook.com/groups/271652302979441/Iain Abernethy Sensei's Articles, Podcasts, Forum, and YouTube Channel:http://www.iainabernethy.co.uk/articleshttp://www.iainabernethy.co.uk/audio-listhttp://www.iainabernethy.co.uk/forumhttps://www.youtube.com/user/practicalkatabunkaiJohn Titchen Sensei's Blog and YouTube Channel:http://johntitchen.wordpress.comhttps://www.youtube.com/user/jwtdartMatthew Apsokardu Sensei's Blog:http://www.ikigaiway.com/Angel Lemus Sensei's "One Minute Bunkai" YouTube Channel:https://www.youtube.com/user/OneminutebunkaiPaul Enfield Sensei's YouTube Channel:https://www.youtube.com/user/GKCgojuStephan Kesting's GrappleArts.com YouTube Channel:https://www.youtube.com/user/StephanKestingDan Djurdjevic Sensei's Blog:http://dandjurdjevic.blogspot.com/Mario McKenna Sensei's Blog:http://www.kowakan.com/Giles Hopkins Sensei's Blog:http://goju-ryu.blogspot.com/Mike Clarke Sensei's Blog:http://shinseidokandojo.blogspot.com/Jesse Enkamp's Blog:http://www.karatebyjesse.com/Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu's Blog:http://8limbs.us/Patrick McCarthy Sensei's Blog:http://irkrs.blogspot.com/Victor Smith Sensei's Blog:http://isshin-concentration.blogspot.com/Kris Wilder Sensei's Podcasts:http://www.martial-secrets.com/ Kishimoto-Di | 2014-Present | Sensei: Ulf KarlssonShorin-Ryu/Shinkoten Karate | 2010-Present: Yondan, Renshi | Sensei: Richard Poage (RIP), Jeff Allred (RIP)Shuri-Ryu | 2006-2010: Sankyu | Sensei: Joey Johnston, Joe Walker (RIP)Judo | 2007-2010: Gokyu | Sensei: Joe Walker (RIP), Ramon Rivera (RIP), Adrian RiveraIllinois Practical Karate | International Neoclassical Karate Kobudo Society

ps1 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm a huge fan of blogs and forums too. As an owner, I do alot of reading about running martial arts business an such as well. If you want any suggestions, feel free to send me a PM. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
bushido_man96 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I don't take a lot of time to check into many blogs. I do have some youtube channel subscriptions, like Kwonkicker, that I look at from time to time, and I did just subscribe to GingerNinja's channel, as well.I wish I had more time to put towards online research like that. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
sensei8 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I don't visit many blogs and the like, and that's mainly because my schedule is quite limited. In that, there's maybe 1 or 2 sites that I will regularly visit. I just "surf" and if it peaks my interest, I'll look at it, but I don't always finish the article. The first paragraph must interest me; that paragraph tells the tone a lot. **Proof is on the floor!!!
AdamKralic Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I come here and read threads like this one! I also do a lot of youtube surfing...mostly to watch fights but just in trying to find them you will find many useful instructional videos. There are soooo many resources out there...it is very hard to name a few. For example: Hey every now and then we need to take a step back and have some fun..."Ameri-Do-Te" is your one stop shop. Or maybe you are really into traditional weapons forms? "hempev" is a Youtube user that has a whole slew of the best traditional weapons forms training videos that I've seen on youtube. Maybe you are into tournament sparring type stuff? Well then there are fighters that put out great videos such as Jadi Tention and Ross Levine.
Patrick Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Please feel free to share your resources in the thread, Bill. Thanks.
