JohnnyB
To maximize the effect of your Karate training you need to complement it with a healthy diet.People involved in athletic activities are getting a lot of oxidants build up in their bodies so you need to be eating plenty of anti-oxidant foods. Just google ''anti-oxidants'' and find out what you like best.Apart from that u need a good mix of proteins, calcium and carbohydrates. The amount required depends on factors like your height, your weight, your age and your body type (small, medium or large).I'd recommend seeking specific advice from a nutrion expert to measure you in one of these fancy digital scales like 'Tanita' and show you exactly where you stand and what u need to improve in your body. darksoul
I eat normally for a Canadian. Very little to no fast food (poutine here and there and some steamies,) organic beef, chicken, and porc, lots of fish and veggies. Pasta, rice, lentils, and ridiculous amounts of spicy peppers I also eat a fair amount of game meat such as venison, moose, elk, etc... I drink casually on weekends (beer mostly) and tend to have a glass of wine each day. I also drink A LOT of water.I think I eat healthy but I don't go out of my way to count calories or antioxidants or protein. bushido_man96
You need to look at what your goals are, and see how you can use your diet to affect those goals. If you are working out a lot, and want to get stronger, you will likely need to increase your caloric intake. If you are looking to drop some weight, then decrease it. Eating fresh foods is always good, but depending on your level activity and metabolism, you can get away with less than healthy stuff from time to time. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Evil Dave
The simple answer is "Garbage in, Garbage out"!There are many ways to go about eating healthy, with many diet programs out there {I don't like the word diet, as the connotation is that what your eating is something special, where everything you eat is part of your diet}. Take a look around, as your instructors, and others you respect to see what they do ~ you are looking for ideas, not a copy diet plan of what they do as everybody is a little different. The main things are: consistency, healthy choices, well balanced {protiens, carbs, fats, water, minerals, vitamins}, portion control, less mass produced, etc.
Kevin Wilson
Simple maths says any calories in should equal calories out! To people that say garbage in equals garbage out in what sense? The body can produce every chemical it needs apart from vitimain c! I'm not disputing the fact I just wonder have you eat really unhealthy n had adverse effects? I've heard eating healthy can increase concentration and energy levels but have you experienced this. I don't eat very healthy at all. Just bad upbringing with to many sweats. Now I'm older I struggle to est fruit n veg as I think they taste so horrible. I do how ever through sheer will power force myself to eat some. I now don't mind taste of carrots, peas, oranges apples n very ripe bananas. I'm getting there. JusticeZero
When the quality of food that I eat is lower, and I find that quality generally means "less processing", my energy level is significantly lower, less steady, and I am more hungry. My strength can fluctuate a bit. Some foods can cause my joints to be an issue. The body is not a "simple math" thing. Evil Dave
Garbage in Garbage Out is not just counting calories. It's taking a look at everything we eat. We need a balance of macro nutrients: protien, carbs, fats, water, plus the micro nutrients: minerals and vitamins. The body can not produce everything it needs, that's why we need to eat.We eat fairly healthy, make our one bbq sauces and rubs, sausages, salsas, etc. The only 'processed' food we have in the house is a couple of quick treat snacks. When I have a fast food dinner {burger, fries, coke} about two hours later I feel the biggest blood sugar drop and need a 'fix' for lack of better term.Think of food as fuel, this might help. Kevin, changing eating habits in our society is not an easy task. Take it one step at a time and make small changes, you'll see a big difference.
