Shotokan-kez Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Oh how i was scared last night. It was about 12.15...i think and i was getting into bed and suddenly my house shook. All my little ornaments fell off my shelf, and i was clinging on to my bed I have never experienced anything like that before, on the ricktor scale it measured 4.7. I suppose we are lucky in the UK because we dont experience some of the wild weather that other countries in the world do, but we are getting worse. You always used to hear people saying things like 'typical british weather' but we had summer winter spring autumn and they were okay. Never have earthquakes, tornado's ect.Now we seem to be slowly catching up with those countries that do, and its scary. Have any of you ever experienced freaky weather that frightened you? Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
bushido_man96 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Wow, Kez, that would be freaky. Years ago, there was a small quake in my area, but it was before my time here. I have heard stories about it; freaky, to say the least. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
NightOwl Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Lived in a quake zone for most of my life- then moved to one of the WORST areas for earthquakes. Oh- and dormant volcanoes...You could see the steam coming off Mt. St Helens a couple or so years ago on a regular basis (it had a huge eruption before my time completely demolishing the top of the mountain). Tsunamis are a threat too. Maybe I should move to someplace where nothing bad happens like Canada. Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.~Theodore Roosevelt
Shotokan-kez Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 Wow night owl thats scary, think i would be moving lol When my brother was born in Hong Kong my mum said she experienced a bad earthquake.I just found out it was actually 5.2 not 4.7 and a mans chimney fell through his roof and fell on top of him, he broke his hip! Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
