Two days before I am competing in a tourny and I develop one huge bloodblister on the ball of my foot. :kaioken: Usually I'd just leave it and it sorts itself but its just gonna get worse before it gets better and I'll be crippled for Saturday. Anyone got any quick fix tips for stopping the soreness or making it more bearable? Thanks

The moleskin is a good idea. If there's a lot of pressure within it, you can relieve the pressure by sterilizing a very fine needle and then making one tiny puncture just enough to let the pressure out of it, then cover with a bandaid and the moleskin.

In my experience, if you have a blood blister where you have to put pressure on it, if you can remove the fluid within it with as small an outlet as possible, then bandage securely, it can let the skin layers bond faster. Yeah, it still will peel like a blister later, but at least I was able to stand having pressure on the spot where mine was, on my hand.

I'm not suggesting that you do it, I'm just saying what I did to mine.

Thanks for the suggestions. I competed on it yesterday and luckily there were mats on every ring. Blister's still there but I can't feel it too much if I walk around with think socks on. Problem is it seems to be under quite a lot of skin, its not raised up though. Might have a go at draining it, I'll see how I feels after today. Thanks again.

When the tournament is done, try taking a rest for a bit to see if that helps clear it up. Draining it can help but you also have to factor in the risk of infection. The best way to drain it is to make a very small puncture using a sterilized needle by boiling it for 5 min or so (like one for sewing). I actually just did that today with a rather nasty one I've had for about a week, however I've heard you need to be careful with blood blisters....

yeh, there are band aids specifically for blisters that are relatively sticky and help it heal faster + main medication- they are band aid brand.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. It kinda hardened up after a day or two then disappeared... The skin came lose in a training session on Saturday :dead:... was painful seeing as it was the club Christmas party that evening and I'd made the stupid design to wear heels.
