Hahaha...the motherload is coming in!!!

Recommended Posts

I shop for books on several different websites, with Martial Arts books being a top pick of mine (go figure :P ). Anyways, one of these websites sent me a coupon for 25% off if I order by a certain date. So, I ordered 4 books that would have cost me $91, but instead, only ran me for around $68. A good deal, I thought, considering the last book I ordered was about 3 months back, and ran me $175 on its own.

Anyways, my happy titles will be enroute very soon!! They are:

HIGHLAND KNIFE FIGHTING

KRABI-KRABONG

RENAISSANCE SWORDSMANSHIP

SIGMUND RINGECK’S KNIGHTLY ARTS OF COMBAT

Hey Brian, sounds great, you got a real good deal there (not that i know much about American dollars) :D

Personally i only own one martial arts book and thats martial arts of the world, not very imformative because it only has a small section on each art. :)

I've been on a bit of a video buying spree myself lately, got Saulo Ribeiro's 6 DVD set on BJJ (Jiu-Jitsu Revolution), Duke Roufus' 4 DVD Muay Thai set, Masters of Grappling 1 (feat. Frank Shamrock, John Will and Rigan Machado) and a 3 DVD set of Muay Thai fights.

Tell us all about the Krabi Krabong book when you've had a look, it sounds an interesting style.

I have to take my hat off to you bushido_man. How on earth do you fit in all this reading, work, family, posting an average of 16+ messages a day and still get time to go to the Dojo.

Let me in on your secret.

As I get the books read, I will let you know how they are. I do a little blurb on most of them in the Martial Arts Research Library sticky after I get them read.

Let me in on your secret.

Hey Bushidoman- I know that CMAs are not your particular realm of interest, but if you get a chance, check out the book that I mentioned in the CMA thread: http://www.karateforums.com/sick-and-tired-of-people-putting-down-kung-fu-vt31528-70.html

I appeal to you as I have no money to buy the book with at the moment and you are the KF residential scholar. : p

Thanks, NightOwl. Although I don't discuss the Chinese MAs very much, I do find interest in just about every style that is, has been, or will be. I will look into your title, and maybe it will become mine some day as well. :P

Hey, just checked it, and it does look interesting. Those kind of manual set ups are right up my alley, and it has a good price on it, too. Thanks again; I'll look into it. After this load, though, it may be a month or so...

The books arrived today!!! I opened it up, and thumbed through them all a bit, and I can't wait to get dug into them. Well worth the price, I think.
