Yes....in a perfect world all techniques would be universal so when talking of a back kick we would all have the same visual!

i lead with a front leg kick and follow up with hand techniques, and save the rear leg kick until im done with the hands and kick towards the head.

"Theres no point, you kicked him in the butthole." comment made during a sparring match.

we have always kicked off our back leg. Dont get me wrong we kick off the front leg too and i feel they are much faster. I agree with what brian said the side kick from the back leg is quite slow to get going and i cant get an awful lot of power from it.
