Actually no. The standard is $70/ month but for me as I can attend only 4 classes a month due to my work, he told me it will be $50/month.

I pay £4 per lesson, that's around 6 US dollars I think....

Some I get free as I offer to help out etc. I charge the same per person but give large discounts for families. I make a little profit after all hire, pads, insurance, printing etc is paid for - but then I often throw in extra weekend training and just break even.

I'm lucky we don't have huge bills and only need to cover costs so we can train for the Karate and passing on our skills.

We could make up some competition wins, exaggerate our experience, add a couple of dan ranks and then charge more but I couldn't look anyone in the eye to be soo phoney...

$80 a month for me - unlimited training, insurance, dojo hire fees (we hire a space so everyone gets a small amount included into their fees to cover it), grading costs, new belts etc.

We now run 'master' classes for kata and kumite a few times a year but cost extra. All my sensei does is book the space for the time required but the money paid goes toward that and also to pay the instructors for their time. The instructor that runs kata is in the state squad and the instructor for kumite is in the national squad.

In your opinion...

What drives the high tuition costs? Overhead or inflation or greed? Please, choose the one answer that defines the question.

if you only choose one the explanation would be different.

But Inflation and Overhead can be paired, because if you rent a space the overhead might increase due to various reasons but inflation will also increase overhead because of the costs. Then Greed is seperate because it is on an individual basis of the owner of the school or the person who owns the building that your schools uses.

Ours is about $100 per month, but that is unlimited training, includes all belts, exams, gi, special guest sessions, etc. I haven't had to put out any extra money for anything else. I think it is fair, and encourages regular participation. I am generally in the dojo three days a week, occasionally four.
