That sucks! :kaioken:

I'm with ya, brother. On my birthday in Nov 2005, I tripped over my cat on the stairs and sprained my ankle. ON my birthday! It's the same ankle I've hurt four times previously. Damn cat just looked at me howling. I could tell she was laughing.

That's why I'm a dog person!

That's some tough luck, Kez! I hope it doesn't slow down your class time! :(

Tonight the callus I've been building up on my left foot ripped off during drills in Muay Thai class. The skin under it split open. I hope I don't get an infection. This is exactly why I've been considering MA shoes, though no one else wears them. I washed well when I got home so I should be all right.

It didn't distract me while sparring, but I can sure feel it now.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, I just had minor surgery to remove some skin cancer from each side of my face. (Too much sun and surf in the 70s/80s). The doc said no full-contact MA for 4-6 WEEKS! Aaauuuuggghhhh!

This sucks. Makes sense, but it sucks. I guess it's time to transition to my stretching regimen and attend class to learn by osmosis. I will try to start training lightly again without face contact in a couple of weeks if I can. Man...

I guess I watch my last few classes of MT from the sideline. I can still learn while I sit, but man. My new arts: Muay-not-so-Thai. Jeet-Kune-don't-touch-me-Do.

Today I worked out for the first time since surgery. Tomorrow night I will try to go to class after I get the stitches removed. Even if I have to stand and not participate much, I want to go. Today I hurt my right delt somehow when I was mounting my heavy bag, but it's pretty minor. All part of the game!

I think it is great that you still have the drive to want to be at class, even if you can't participate. I am glad to hear that you will be going back soon!
