Jack Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 Below is the link to a very tough, progressive routine. This is not an actual Navy SEALS workout, those are even tougher if imaginable, but this is a sort of preparatory routine. This program is about a nine week long program. During this program, you should notice that your endurance will sore to heights never imagined. However, like Navy SEAL training, this program will break you - only the mentally strong will survive and a new, strengthened man will emerge. http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/brent2.htm Comments? I'm considering taking this up when my knee gets good enough for running. JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
ZeRo Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 oh my god!!!!!! thats amazing. i think i might be able to do the first week if you took the running out. heh thats hard
Bon Posted May 17, 2002 Posted May 17, 2002 Swimming is one of the most awesome things you can do for fitness. When I played basketball and swimming only weekly, it did huge things to help my game. It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
Phantasmatic Posted May 18, 2002 Posted May 18, 2002 I've looked over this thouroughly and I think i'm gonna give it a whirl!! I gave a printed copy to my sensei and he said that this would be one of the best things for my karate. "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
Jack Posted May 19, 2002 Author Posted May 19, 2002 Hehe, cool Phantasmatic. I'm incorporating it but only doing the pushups etc. twice a week as to get a better time for recovery, but the same amount of cardio. Also replaced the swimming with Martial Arts practice, so this should be good. JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
CTpizzaboy Posted May 19, 2002 Posted May 19, 2002 Great routine but I'm going to skip the running, going to save my knee for my kicks. Canh T.I often quote myself. It adds spice to my conversations.
muaythaidm Posted May 20, 2002 Posted May 20, 2002 i will try it either this summer, in the fall, or next summer. DOnt want to have to run that far with snow on the ground orin the air for that matter
Jack Posted May 20, 2002 Author Posted May 20, 2002 I can't run much due to knee problems so if the routine says 2 miles at an 8:30 pace, I will simply do intense cardio for 20 minutes in the form of skipping, bagwork, stationary cycle etc. JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
Phantasmatic Posted May 20, 2002 Posted May 20, 2002 That would probably be equaly beneficial for you. "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
