bushido_man96 Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 Work yourself in gradually, NightOwl! You want to train more than once a week! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
baronbvp Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I just don't seem to get into better shape (skinnier).I think you need to get in the water and swim. It will take off some pounds, increase your aerobic capacity, tone your muscles, and be easy on your knees. That's one thing I love about bodysurfing. Is there a pool nearby?I have been doing the same basics in TKD classes for 5 years now, but, for some reason, I still get just as tired and worn out doing them. What's up with that? Very frustrating!Maybe it is time to switch arts, grasshopper. Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.Martial arts are like kinetic chess. Your move.
bushido_man96 Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 I would love to swim, but don't get much time for it.Also, no other arts around here to switch to! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
baronbvp Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Finally made it back to the gym after almost a year of not lifting! I thought I'd go lightdoes not =I KILLED my armsYou had the right idea, unlike many people. Sounds like you went too hard, for too long. I think low weight with high reps is a good way to break yourself back in. Keep the lactic acid away so you can train more often. But glad you're back throwin' steel. Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.Martial arts are like kinetic chess. Your move.

baronbvp Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Kansas City Ninjas. Who'd a thunk it. That would be a great name for a sports team. Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.Martial arts are like kinetic chess. Your move.

Judo600 Park St., Hays, KS 67601Office: (913) 628-5868I talked to that guy once, and he said since I was the only one currently interested, he didn't feel like putting the time in. Of course, I spoke to him back when I first showed up at college. I am not sure if the club still functions or not.I could ask, though. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

The others are either 2 or 3 or 4 hours away. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
NightOwl Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Ninjas are worth the drive. Don't tell them otherwise.(seriously, bum on the locale....definitely hit up the judo guy again and try to rope in some friends) Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.~Theodore Roosevelt
