Canoe2fish
I wimped out of training last week because of a sprained thumb and bad head cold. I want to resume training, but fear injuring my thumb even more. I can't wait to go back because when I got injured a week ago, I had just returned from 6 weeks off from a torn bicep at the rotator cuff. I really don't want to miss anymore time at the Dojo for fear of falling too far behind. Is there a way to wrap it up with a tensor bandage or something? Or would it be too risky...?Thanks in advanceC2F
ninjanurse
Pain is relative to how much fun you are having. One can never have enough tape or ibuprofen in their bag!!!! Canoe2fish
Thanks ninjanurse....would you be able to elaborate on a techinique on taping up my hand? Is it just a cloth tape wound around your hand and thumb? Can I presume its just snugly wrapped as well? Thanks again,C2F
ninjanurse
I have never wrapped a thumb specifically...but I am sure you can find info on wrapping techniques somewhere out there. Athletic tape is pretty cheap and easily apply-I would wrap to support the thumb and keep it from being hyperextended. wolfen
you may want to strike that part about Ibuprofen. I have seen a guy take 3200 mgs of it and wonder why his hands were numb/tingly. I use it a lot myself, but I do so with a knowledge of what it does.
