Phantasmatic Posted May 8, 2002 Posted May 8, 2002 (these are all in lbs. don't want you to think i'm a freakin mammoth!!) Bench: 205 Clean: 175 Dead Lift: 365 Squat: 285 "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
muaythaidm Posted May 8, 2002 Posted May 8, 2002 bench: last time I checked it was 205 but I haven't maxed in 6 monthes Clean: 205 also but I haven't maxed in 14 monthes Squat: 290 six monthes ago Deadlift: 355 six monthes ago All in pounds, I hardly ever max because I would rather be getting stronger then seeing the most I can lift.
Phantasmatic Posted May 8, 2002 Author Posted May 8, 2002 Me too muaythai, but I am in a lifting class and we have to max every month, so I just decided to start a post...but I guess not many people do this sort of stuff! BTW, kudos on that 205 on clean, i can just barely do 175! "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
G95champ Posted May 8, 2002 Posted May 8, 2002 Clean is nothing but techinque. The more you work it the better at it your will get. I personally think it is the best lift anyone can do. It hits everything. I have not maxed on cleans since I stoped playing football in 96 however I do work out with our team now and I do 225 for five pretty good. Squat is a lift we don't max on becasue its dangerous. We do a rep of five max on it. I have no clue what I can do now but again in 96 I did 405 for 5. Bench 315 I hit it again last week I have never been no higher. Deadlift we do straight leg deadlifts and use light weight to focus on the hamstrings so I have no clue. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
muaythaidm Posted May 9, 2002 Posted May 9, 2002 Phantasmatic thanks!!! I am also in a weight training class but my teacher doesn't make us max often (only once this school year).
Phantasmatic Posted May 9, 2002 Author Posted May 9, 2002 Squat is a dangerous lift to max, I have fallen quite a bit while trying for 285 more than twice! "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
Phantasmatic Posted May 9, 2002 Author Posted May 9, 2002 BTW I just did 295 squat today!!! "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
muaythaidm Posted May 9, 2002 Posted May 9, 2002 Phantasmatic great job on the squat!!!!!!! How much do you weigh? I weigh 165lbs (170lbs on a good day, last time I maxed was 20lbs or so ago).
Phantasmatic Posted May 9, 2002 Author Posted May 9, 2002 thanks a lot! "Which one is more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi
Radok Posted May 9, 2002 Posted May 9, 2002 G95champ, 315 is cra-z strong man! r u in your thirties or twenties? 15 more pounds and you reach average break limit! Work extra hard for that last little bit of weight. I am 14, 5'10",130lbs. I bench 165, clean 120 squat I dont max on cuz it's dangerous, but I'll guess around 250 and deadlift about 170. I should be at a 200 pound bench by my 15'th birthday. _________________ Okinawan Shorin-ryu=hardest style in the world!!
