Reid has done good things with QBs like him in the past, and I could see some packages being set up for him to get a few touches near the endzone in a game, to keep Patrick from running the ball as much in those tighter areas. I think the CFL runs an 18 game regular season, with 2 or 3 bye weeks. Why not?!? That's probably a good idea. Throwing Mendoza right into the fire won't be super beneficial, and he'll get a chance to see how a pro prepares for a game. Also, the integrity of the Coach of the Year award is being questioned now that Vrabel has been caught having a weekend getaway with a reporter who votes on the award. Vrable won coach of the year in 2025, taking the Patriots from last place all the way to the Super Bowl in his first years as head coach.

Test Mendoza in pre-season to see how he handles to NFL rushings and secondary. I agree with Brian, watch Cousins before considering to put Mendoza in, unless Cousins becomes a bust or gets hurt.
