I was thinking this morning that for the rest of my life i wont have another cig, that thought was daunting and i nearly reverted. I phoned my sister, she quit three years ago and then i phoned my nurse at the surgery. So apart from the irritation, and bad tempers i'm doing ok....day two almost over. hurricane Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Good, keep it up! The thought of never having a cigarette IS daunting but once you are over it and eliminated the idea that you HAVE to smoke, you won't be missing anything. Non-smokers don't miss anything either right? Nor will you!!
alsey Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 good to hear. day 2 was the hardest for me, it should start getting easier soon. that never having a cig again thought foiled my first few attempts at quitting, just remember that never having a cig again is a good thing, and just take each day and hour at a time. keep it up! hawkfish Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Keep up the good work!I quit smoking cigarettes 21 months ago and I feel that it has helped my karate training a great deal. I don't get winded, I no longer get that stitch in my side any more and my clothes don't have that awful smell any more. I smoked for close to 20 years and I finally wanted to quit. One of my goals that helped was I was testing for my first belt rank at the time and I told everyone that I would quit smoking if I got my rank which I did. I have a terrible cough now, all the gunk coming up shows my insides are clearing. I'm still a little irritable and the poor boys are getting it aww bless. Luckily my eldest is understanding.
