Quite often we see athletic and acrobatic movements that look like Martial Arts. They look great on film but are about as effective on the street as laying down and saying "hit me"

if you wanted to learn some flippy kicks in an MA, take up capoiera. before people say its not effective, if done right, i beleive it can be very effective. its done as a dance cos the slaves that developed it werent allowed to fight, but take it back to somplicity when required and some of those kicks could be deadly.

Now you use head for something other than target.

fusen ryu students defeated the kodokan students by laying down...is that what parkerlineage is talking about?

yeah, you know how the kodokan people challenged (and defeated) loads of other jujutsu schools to show how good judo was? well when they challenged the fusen ryu, the fusen ryu guys just layed down and forced a ground fight and they won.
