UseoForce Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I think it would be helpful to newbs and experienced guys alike if we all discussed what supplement we take and why. I'd rather this was less of a discussion and more of y'all just telling the forum what you take and why. For me, Protein: 100% Whey after workouts, usually in a smoothie (Add a banana, milk, ice). In theorey, the sugars in the banana help get the protein to your muscles faster than if it was juast the protein alone. Plus, it tastes good, gives you some vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Multivitamin: I pop one in the morning. I don't change the way I eat because I take the vitamin (I still eat the healthiest and most balanced diet I can), but it is just a cheap way to make sure all bases are covered. Acai: I use it occaisionally, don't really feel strongly one way or another about it. I dunno, it tastes good. A relative bought it for me, I'm still using that stuff. If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
MizuRyu Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I take a multivitamin every morning, 50 grams of Dave Draper's Bomber Blend (good mix of whey and casein) every afternoon, lifting or not, and 60 grams of casein before bed. Sohan Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Protein powder. 2-3x times daily as a supplement. Quick and easy to use, need the extra protein because I work out A LOT.Vit's E, C, and Selenium. Antioxidant power, protects my cells against premature deterioration, and I'm less sore after workouts.Basic multivitamin. My insurance policy.Creatine. More power and mass--been using >10 years, very safe.Green tea--Not really a supplement, but I drink 3-5 cups every day for extra antioxidants and flavonoids.Respectfully,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." Orion Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Not been a skin flint but it seems in the UK prices for supplements, like creatine and protein powder cost the earth. Anyone in the UK know anywhere to get them cheaper? Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.
