40 cent Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 hey guys..im not quite sure what is going on, but its the weekend here in ballarat, so ive pretty much left it too late to go to the docs..but my throat isnt sore as such, but the muscles at the front and down inside my throat feel tight...its REALLY annoying, makes it a little hardER to breath (nothing drastic at all). but the biggest reason im worried is because i fight full contact sunday...and im not really at my bestany indications of what could be going on, or what to do?
Jacob Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Have a doctor check it out soon! I'm not sure what is going on. I had an experience where I had trouble swallowing food and it turned out my throat had closed due to a condition brought on by acid reflux called Shatzi's (sp?) Ring. I had to have an upper GI (endoscopy) to break it up.Maybe this is what is going on with you, maybe not. Anyway, it sounds serious enough to be very concerned about. Good luck and let us know what happens. A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
jaymac Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Are you sure you didn't just pull some muscles training. It is easy to do and not remember. Take a hot shower, apply some muscle relaxer like asper cream or something and take some motrin. 600 mg every 6 hours or 800 mg every 8 hours ( if you weigh more than 180 lbs. ) See if this helps, if it does, don't sweat it, it was muscular. However, if your breathing becomes impeded, go to the closest ER. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
lordtariel Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 If you have one in your area, go in to an urgent care office. They're kinda spendy, but they're usually open on the weekends and aren't nearly as expensive as having to go to the hospital to get checked out. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
Blackbeltblonde Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Hey, I hope you got it checked out!.. I one time overused my neck muslces (in the front) and I could NOT for the life of me figure out what happened.. I realized later that I had several times over bent backwards letting my head go back, then I'd whip it forward.. It hurt to swallow! But, for no other reason than overused muscles. ~BBB Training 14 yearsKalkinodo Blackbelt
Jay Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I think i might know what it is although i cant be certain. You said in your other post you have a phycolgical burdon and where fealing guilty. When you feel guilty you make yourself feel anxious. This can in tern lead to yourself swollowing a lot. This make your throat feel weird and tight. I had a very similar thing i thought my glands where hurting where in fact it was my throat muscles. The doctor told me to stop swollowing as much. This will allow muscles to relax. You should see a doctor anyway but im pretty sure im right. He will probably tell you its nothing to worry about and by doing that it gives you less stress and the problem will fix its self. The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.
Shotokan-kez Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I am in aggreement with Jay. I suffer with anxiety and my throat often feels strange and tight and it's scary, sometimes i feel like i can't breath. Take deep breaths and try to take your mind of it. Hope you feel better soon!Kez Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk

MizuRyu Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 yeah.. could be globus. I had a bad case once after my girlfriend broke up with me DURING my senior prom for about a week. It was harsh lol "They look up, without realizing they're standing in the palm of your hand""I burn alive to keep you warm"
