Aodhan Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 im british and we use stones pounds and ounces for weight and everythigh eles metric kg are beig used more often run an 1hr a day it soon goes, every day time yourself and try to break it every day works well for me dont do weights as they actually dont get ridf of body fat it has to be cv exerciseThe weight training itself doesn't really burn body fat, that is true. However, the more muscle mass you have, the more calories it takes to maintain the muscles you already have, which is more than it takes to maintain fat stores. Not saying you have to be bulky as all get out, but a good solid base of muscle will burn more calories just sitting around than a solid base of fat storage.Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
kchenault Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I lose bodyfat by running really fast and ducking behind a corner. Bodyfat runs right by and I quickly slip out the other direction. Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
CagedWarrior Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 The calories in vs calories out ideal is a simplified version of what's going on, but it's generally a good thing to follow. Exercise in order to keep your muscle mass (you will probably lose some, but not much if you do it right). Eat approximately equal carbohydrates and protein, leaning more towards protein but don't do that no carb *. Make sure you get your healthy fats (unsaturated) but for the most part avoid them at all costs. If you want more, PM me.

Fat is the only way that those vitamins get into the body. Also, most reputable nutritionists are recommending 15-20% of calories from fat. (Good fats, obviously, such as olive oil, fish oil, etc.)Extremes of everything are unhealthy.Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
