July 1, 200521 yr at todays class my sensei wanted to give the stripes for those who needed them and importanty earned them. i got one for knowing and for being able to perform them. i am very happy and will train harder as a result. shorei kai=graceful flowing

July 4, 200521 yr Hey, congratulationsI know what it feels like to get your first stripe as I started karate not too long ago, and I remember when I got my 1st stripe I felt like "the man" and I was on top of the world. As you keep progressing you will become more and more proud of your self. In 6 months you will also look back and think how easy the first stripe requirements were, but you earned it now and it was I am sure pretty difficult.
