BJJ is 1 Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Would you combine different styles? as in attacked by a grappler and a striker? separately?I think so, but as I said I have never been to the mass attack class, I just wrote what other students told me "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
Lazy Scholar Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 People have to keep in mind that the Tao was just an ACCUMULATION of Bruce's notes. Notes that weren't necessarily his, as he didn't have any intention of publishing his notes. There are some things that are useful, but you have to be quick to discern what isn't applicable to JKD. you scythe with it!!!!!!
BJJ is 1 Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Very true "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard

BJJ is 1 Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Here is a good question, at your guys schools do you do more kicks from Savat or Muay Thai? "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
italian_guy Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Here is a good question, at your guys schools do you do more kicks from Savat or Muay Thai?In my case is (probably) MT. Almost all kicks we do are aimed at legs and looks some kicks executed by MT practitioner, but I don't know much about Savate kicks, what's the difference?
BJJ is 1 Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 in the MT thigh kick you usualy use your shin to strike with but there is also a similar kick in savat where you use the heel of your foot to strike the knee "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
