Ottman Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 Elizabeth Shue wasn't really all that hot until Back to the Future or Cocktail (IMHO) This is part of why i liked the third one better. I don't know who the so called 'pot making girl' was, but she was better (again IMHO) Tae Kwon Do - 3rd Dan, InstructorBrazilian Ju Jitsu - Purple Belt, Level 1 Instructor
kchenault Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Elizabeth Shue wasn't really all that hot until Back to the Future or Cocktail (IMHO) This is part of why i liked the third one better. I don't know who the so called 'pot making girl' was, but she was better (again IMHO) One could see the potential if one just looked. The red head from number three was hot, but young at the time. I would still take ES. Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
Son Goku the monkeyking Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 which is the one where they travel to okinowa
battousai16 Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 that was the second one... if i remember right, i had to take that one in two sittings... couldn't stand it otherwise... "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai
KnifeHand Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 It's a tough pick. I think my favorites have evolved. The first one is a classic, and was my favorite for a long time. Now though, I think the third is my favorite, it's more the "adult" film of the trilogy, featuring swear words and the girl getting kicked. That really boosts the emotion. Part II does provide some good looks into Okinawa, but overall part III is killer. Haven't seen part IV with the girl yet, but we'll see. "Please do not drop your partner like a sack of potatoes. If anything, throw them hard with control." - my instructor"Your karate is still useless." - my brother as he picks himself up off the floor
1kickKO Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 It is a pretty tough pick, I like the first one...very inspiring and a good preplot leading up to the next two, but I'd have to say my favorite is #2.
ShotokanKid Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 I... the again I've never seen 2 or 3 "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men."
pineapple Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 I loved the original (#1)....great story........just wish that the "kid" had better skills because it was too obvious that his opponents would whip his behind in a real tournament. What works works
fangshi Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 just wish that the "kid" had better skills because it was too obvious that his opponents would whip his behind in a real tournament. You can say that again. The skill level of the "star" was very lacking. Liked the movies though. Kind of partial to #2 . Didn't even know there was a #4. What was the story line in that one ? Maybe if you jog my memory it will come back to me. We are not so much individual beings as individual points of perception within one immense being.
senna_trem Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Too bad there was no "other" option. What sub-category of karate did they study anyways? "I think therefore I am" Rene Descartes
