informer Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 no, I met him in Boston during that last KK film. http://www.mixedmartialartsexpo.com
Keumgang Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 I don't think Pat Morita even has a japanese accent! There are no inns on the highway to death. For whose house will I stay in tonite?Prince Otsu, Japan 751 AD
informer Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 that's right he's got the american accent 100%. remember he was originally a stand up comic in the states....then he was on happy days (t.v. show) in the 80's http://www.mixedmartialartsexpo.com
Ottman Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Ralph Macchio never had martial arts training either. In fact, I don't think anyone in the cast did. I heard that the referee in the tournament at the end, (the featured one who refs for the final match) was the coreagrapher and trainer for the movie. I forget his name though. Jbone1 Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Yes, that is true. Though the Kobra Kai's looked like they did, they just picked it up better than sorry Ralph. He played a good part but his fighting was pathetic. "What's your style?""My style?""You can call it the art of fighting without fighting."

His name is Pat Johnson and he is/was a 9th dan in Tang Soo Do. He also played the referee in KK2 and KK3 and has been a stunt coordinator for a bunch of martial arts films. Info is from the internet movie database. Res firma, mitescere nescit
informer Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 some of the cobra were karate-ka in real life. http://www.mixedmartialartsexpo.com
G Money Slick Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Pat Johnson is a NINTH DAN!? Wow. That's impressive. Pat Morita is a comedian and a damn good one to. He just has the Martial Arts look to him. If your enemy refuses to be humbled......you must destroy him.
