ang_soo_do_guy
ok i put a post befroe saying about can you consume alcohol while training and my master says that a glass a day of red wine is healthy and it stops you binge drinking on the weekend hes not much of a drinker but his friend consumes around 4 to 8 glasses of red wine a week and he never binges or gets drunk cos hes in a habit of having it through the week. so heres the question is this a good habit for a moderate drinker doing martial arts or not "learning a martial art is like tuning a string instrument. tune the strings too hard and they will snap tune them too little and it will not play but tune it right and you will have music for a lifetime"-anonomous

White Warlock
There have been reports presented indicating both the positive and negative effects of a daily glass of red wine. What's important is not merely the reports, but who presents those reports and who sponsors the research. I have not spent the time to research this, so i cannot offer any insight other than what i presented above about doing your homework and using common sense when doing so. delta1
Red wine is good for you- IN MODERATION! Water is bad for you- IN EXCESS! And WhiteWarlock is correct- AD NAUSEUM! delta1
Water, if consumed to excess, is actually a poison. Little trivia there, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. No one could get that thirsty (at least, for water. Red wine, maybe- but not water!). Freedom isn't free!
White Warlock
Yes, it's called hyponatremia. If you drink too much water, the salt content of your blood becomes diluted, which can lead to organ problems. It also creates an effect similar to being drunk. Those of us who are always right, really annoy the rest of you, huh! hehe "When you are able to take the keys from my hand, you will be ready to drive." - Shaolin DMV TestIntro

Shorin Ryuu
Yes, once during basic training a few years before I went through it, there was someone who everyone thought was dehydrated, so they forced him to drink water over and over again. He got sick, and since the symptoms of overhydration are the same as dehydration, they gave him more fluids via IV... He died of water poisoning...
