47MartialMan
In what manner? One of my Shifus, consumes a little wine. His Shifu, had also and lived into his 80's. Do you mean going out with the "boys"?
AngelaG
I guess it's down to personal choice and how seriously you take your training... and how much work needs to be done. I still drink at the weekends. I work VERY hard all during the week and I need a little relaxation at the weekends, so I either go out with my dojo buddies, or stay in with a wine, a nice meal and a DVD. However, I don't go and and get wrecked. White Warlock
i would agree it is personal choice. i don't drink. Don't like how it effects my body. My mind stays the same, if not just a tad slower. These are things that most serious practitioners abhor about alcohol. A sort of conflict of interests, if you will. 47MartialMan
So I guess this is a "No No" like smoking from "extreme health conscious"?
White Warlock
Are you asking a question, testing, or posing a rhetorical question? 47MartialMan
Can it be a quasi-sacarstic remark? Hmmnn. How about all of the above.

47MartialMan
So I guess what you are saying, as you rank higher you become more mature and responsible?
steveb
All things in moderation. A drink now and then isn't going to hurt, and in the case of wine (no, not as in drinking a whole case of wine) a glass or two has actually been shown to have some health benefits. Obviously, if you are getting lit every day you are going to incur some problems. Res firma, mitescere nescit
