Wooly Posted January 16, 2002 Posted January 16, 2002 Use lighter weights and work with someone who knows form! Your form is more important at this stage than how much you can lift. Get involved in a good all around sport like karate or kickboxing. It will put on muscle without stunting your growth...plus it's more fun!

Everyones Favourite Ninj Posted January 27, 2002 Posted January 27, 2002 i agree with wooly u should use lighter weights before turning 16. ive been weight training since i was 14 but i started off to intensive and used to waste my self so i stopped after a few weeks and started when i turned 16 but it did stunt my growth a little You create your own reality.
Joecooke007 Posted January 27, 2002 Posted January 27, 2002 If you're fourteen you should be fine. Doctors and magazines are just worried about kids trying it and getting hurt. Boards don't hit back. -Bruce Lee
little_moo Posted January 27, 2002 Posted January 27, 2002 As long as your careful and use lighter weights you should be ok.. I'm also 14 and thats the advice my trainers gave me winners never quitquiiters never win!
