sAtelitte Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 altogether, i think about 40 people seperated in two groups: beginners and advanced https://www.shaolin.be
TangSooGuy Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 31 students right now, but I'm still building.... been going for just over 2 years, so I hope to increase soomewhat. My goal is to have about 60 total in th next 2-3 years....if I get more than that who can stay with it, great...if less, I'm not going anywhere...
Kamiya Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 You know, I put 31-40, but really I'm not sure. I've only been to 4 classes so far, and usually there's only 2 or 3 other people besides me! That's ok though, I like the small class size. ~Erin9th Kyu"Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft."~ Theodore Roosevelt
Luckykboxer Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 we have approximately 450ish students at our studio. we include in our curriculum Boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kenpo Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Tai Chi, Yoga. Some people do 1 style only, some do multiple. The majority of our students are in the Kenpo Karate portion of the curriculum. The school has been open for 20 years now, and all told i would estimate we have about..30 Instructors here
Rotten Head Fok Posted July 17, 2004 Posted July 17, 2004 I will be joining a school, when I do I'll let you know. So for now I am " a student of one" You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.
aefibird Posted July 17, 2004 Author Posted July 17, 2004 Rotten, have you always trained on your own, or did you used to belong to a school? Just curious! "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!
GrrrArg Posted July 17, 2004 Posted July 17, 2004 40,000+ throught the world... God knows how many instructors. Most of them are below standard though. Me thinks me will be changing style soon.
gheinisch Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Depends on what night of the week it is for us. On Mondays there is only three of us with Hanchi for dedicated black belt training. On Tuesday we train with all the other belts except the whites. On Thursday everyone trains. Probably 20 students total. renketsu Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 I put 21-30 as this reflects my own club. Our association though has 500ish students and instructors. Andy. Andy Wilkinson (Sandan)Renketsu Karate Club Senior Instructor(http://www.renketsu.org.uk)
