kotegashiNeo Posted June 6, 2004 Author Posted June 6, 2004 You are talking about Yasuda Sensei, and I won't be there but my sensei will be. Kisshu fushin oni te hotoke kokoro
EnzoampLaura Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 I would have to say my favorite kata to practice and to use in competitions would have to "The way of the wolverine". My sensei and I are trying to find out how to do the original wolverine kata that was created by Bob Degliesh(sp?). If anyone knows please reply. kotegashiNeo Posted June 7, 2004 Author Posted June 7, 2004 Not sure but it is not an okinawan kata and therefore not part of goju ryu but i hear the meibukan does it Kisshu fushin oni te hotoke kokoro
informer Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 kotegashiNeo who is your teacher? To learn wolverine you must go directly to the Senior student of Bob Dalgleish his name is Yogi Israe his web site:l http://www.oneskydojo.com/ http://www.mixedmartialartsexpo.com
FlailingLimbs Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 All I have to say, and that is SUPARINPEI! (sp?) I'm not even a Goju stylist and I think a 108 move kata sounds awsome! (even though it's more like 60ish movements when compared to other styles). ===================When cornered, kick 'em in the spetznats. If that doesn't work, run around acting like an epilept + flail your arms about while whizzin' in your pants, then fall down foaming at the mouth. They'll be so disgusted THEY will walk away from the fight....
EnzoampLaura Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Thank you very much informer. I will try his web site. Shodan Ho in Goju RyuNiagara Falls, Ont.Always train at 110%!
GrrrArg Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 I like seiunchin alot as it pretty much suits my build, sepai is a nice kata as well although I believe we do it slightly different to the way Goju stylists do. We use a uchi-uke instead of a kake-uke (SP!?) about two thirds through and a couple of other minor changes too. Im busy learning sepai at the moment along with sanseru - much prefer sepai.
