Yellow Belt

Yellow Belt (2/10)

  1. I've done them as well. the ab work out is better but the hindu works my shoulders more
  2. I thoroughly enjoy Hindu push ups. I feel like they work my entire arm as well as my shoulders and abs
  3. Was that school a part of the WTSDA? just out of curiosity
  4. To all that own a school. How did you come up with the name?
  5. My instructor contacted the Mayor of our town to say a few things. We also had a short demo and then we were available for giving information throughout the day.
  6. I was just wandering what kind of diet everyone kept when training extra hard for an event such as a tournament to get their best performance
  7. For those of you who are studio owners, how did you go about looking for a location for your school. Did you look in the paper for available properties, drive around your desired location looking for for rent signs? I'm not exactly sure how to start this process.
  8. I was always told NEVER wash your belt.
  9. My wife and I got one for Xmas. I have to admit I like it a lot more than I thought I would. I've never been much of a nintendo fan since the original. And most of the games are to kidish for my taste. I still think the PS3 reigns supreme though. I had that for a couple of months before the Wii. The graphics are better hands down (can't beat the 1080p display) and although the game catalog is small right now the majority of the games that have been coming out look great and all the ps2 games are compatable with it as well. When I get time to sit down and play a game its usually after a rough week so I enjoy the time on my butt.
  10. I too have had a few instructors do this. It was basically to train us to tighten our stomach muscles. Usually the instructor just walks across but on one occassion I had an instructor give me a sharp heel strike before stepping down and walking over.
  11. How do you keep your endurance and strength up to par?? I used to work out in the mornings before I left for work but my new job doesn't all for that since i have to get up so much earlier. When I'm in class I push myself to get the best possible work out but I feel like I've lost a lot now that I'm not doing extra work outs outside of class now. Does any body have any suggestions?
  12. Besides my dobok and sparring gear I have a towel in my bag to wipe me down after a sweaty class. There's nothing worse than trying to put clothes onto a sweaty body.
  13. Try engaging your hips. Make sure what ever technique you're doing isn't being done with the limb by itself but rather with the whole body mainly the hips. If you hips are properly engaged then your drive will dramatically increase. and as bushido man said. pay attention to the instructor. He/she may catch some suddle thing you are forgeting in your technique.
  14. I've used this drill several times. It's great for helping to increase reaction time.
