  1. a dart board? with the little steel rod dividing the target areas? that could throw (no pun intended) off the knife. from my experience, dont throw it vertically. throw it horrizontally. so if you have it in your hand pointed at the target you want to see it fat ways, not skinny. stand 10 feet from the target, and throw it from the blade. every 5 feet you alternate blade handle. (unless it is designed to be throw from only one) i like 15 feet, from the handle. but from 10 feet the knife should rotate only 1 1/2 times. every 5 feet it should rotate 1/2 times. so from 15 feet its 2. dont snap your srist like in the moves. its all arm! from 10 and 15 feet you dont have to throw it too hard. hold the knife in the middle with your thumb and pointer finger. the other fingers just hold the knife steady. when you release all fingers let go at once. i think thats every thing. good throwing. hope this helps. 10. i am totally a bear! it dosnt matter how big a bear it. they seem lazy and saunter around slowly and dont seem to get excited (also they are very cute ) but get one angry and they wont stop till they are satisfyed. i know that can be a bad thing. we also look fat, but can attack with speed great agility and surprising strenght. 11. no fight is ever fair, they might have a weapon, or be 2 or more. or they will fight dirty. if you are in a street fight, you job is to not get killed. there are 2 ways to do this. kill them (BAD CHOICE!) or hurt them enough to make them rethink about hurting you. pressure points and locks do this very well. he comes at you with a lead pipe. you dodge out of the way and hit him with suffecient force in the neck, he wont be able to attack you any more. 16. i have always wanted to open a buisness for myself. opening a school of self defence would be awsome. does any one know how i would go about doing this? this would not be a normal run of the mill martial arts school. it would be a school where any one comes to learn to defende them selves. no belts, no ranks, no set style, yuo would learn to fight against any one who might confront you. i would teach how to use weapons, like escrima, bow, weighted ropes, and other things you could find easily. the way all schools should be. 17. in my experience getting a black belt is just a test of time. if you invest 4 years and alot of money in my school. you will get a black belt. so far there have been 5. i have spared with 2 at once. they were nothing special. i have no belt! belts are made for keeping your pants up. not a means of measuring skill. 18. my weapon of choice is by far escrima, fillipino sticks, or the 6ft staff. SHORTDOG

  20. most of the moves are not useable in a street fight, but some are very useful. but lots of the basic moves are just like normal martial moves, the meia lua de frente is just a frontkick. but the chapa-de-costa is when you are on all fours and kick straight back. i like the meia lua de compaso. it is a very stroung spinning kick, you spin as fast as you can and put your hands on the ground to support yourself. it all depends on your fighting style if you like fance takedowns you might like the negative derrubando (negative means it is preformed from the ground) your opponent kicks and you drop down and hook his ankle with your foot, and yank it out from under him. i could go on for quite some time listing moves. some moves are verg practicle but also i doubt you would do a cartwheel in a street fight. but in brazil it was used as a self defence art. http://www.wu-wien.ac.at/usr/h96b/h9650297/capoeira.html SHORTDOG
  21. absolutly! i like the spinning back jump kick. its a back kick in the air with a spin to the chest. they never expect it. SHORTDOG

  24. i was at the school today and i saw something i didnt see before, the school has a camouflage(sp?) belt! and an camo with white stripe and black stripe. all of them have a white then black stripe! it is in california shortdog
  25. WHAT IS GOING ON? the school i currently go to just really pissed me off. it is an akido school, that is trying to get a lot of money. there were 12 belts from white to black. in one week the school went from 12 belts to 30 belts! how many belts are there in other school. i know a traditional style dosnt just change the number of belts, so i am now wary of this teacher, what else could he be changing? this happened to my friend's school also. what i am trying to say is how can some one just change an ancient style? i guess i am just venting.
