  1. I pay $80/month, with this I can train 6 days a week, up to 5hrs a day! IT's is a GREAT deal and I get all the Sambo I want!
  2. Is a "High Kick" effective in a fight... Yes and No! A high kick is not effective in the beginning of a fight, since your opponent is awake and fully aware. It's telegraphing and also causes trouble if the kick is caught or your standing leg is clinched or swept. Yet if you can daze or stun your opponent first, then use a high kick it will definitely cause an injury or knockout to your opponent! http://www.elitekombat.net/img/ek_logo_site1.gif

  4. Although this forum is based on Karate, there are many members that train in different disciplines. So I setup a poll to see how divers this forum is.
  5. I started into martial arts when I saw UFC 1 on PPV. A 175lb Royce Gracie vs a 210lb Ken Shamrock, Royce dominated the fight and beat Shamrock with a rear naked choke ! To see a MUCH bigger and stronger opponent on his back beat proved to me how EFFECTIVE martial arts are, and so I started Sambo and a young age! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG

    Gi color

In Sambo we wear a heavy Judo or Sambo Gi, also the Gi colour should match the belt colour (Blue Gi/blue belt, Red Gi/Red belt...) Very few Sambo schools in the world train with belt rankings, my school dose not, we only wear belts to keep our Gi's togther. ( I guess we could shoe string, but that would look silly! ) http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  7. Dear Martial_Artist... PLZ stay off the cheep drugs! The point of those clips were to watch and enjoy, I had no meaning behind why I put those clips up, only for the purpose entertainment also if you had an opinion on it then give it. I wasn't asking or looking for some "light" on the subject. The clip wasn't to teach anything to anyone about MMA, BJJ, Kung-Fu, Muay Thai or TKD. Now I know you don't train in grappling cause it's obvious your ONLY exposer of it, is what you see in UFC, Vale Tudo and Pride fights. When it comes to multiply opponents the techniques in Sambo, or BJJ are VERY different from what you watch on T.V. of when only grappling with one opponent. Martial_Artist why do you speak on subjects (grappling) that you not educated on? Also you seem to dislike and judge NHB, you criticize it, for not being "real" if so then why don't you enter a NHB tournament? http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG

Sunday } Rest http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG _________________ Tapout or pass out, it dosen't matter to me! [ This Message was edited by: Tapout on 2002-07-30 22:34 ]
  10. All of those website's haven't proven a thing! Sure Kung-Fu won some MMA fights but , You haven't shown me where a Kung-Fu practitioner beat a BBJ practitioner, therefor making my original statement true! Quote: "Why would a Kung-Fu practitioner fight a BJJ practitioner, it's EXTREMELY OBVIOUS that the Kung-Fu practitioner would lose. " http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG _________________ Tapout or pass out, it dosen't matter to me! [ This Message was edited by: Tapout on 2002-07-30 14:25 ]
  11. I don't believe it's a matter of fairness but WHY? Why would a Kung-Fu practitioner fight a BJJ practitioner, it's EXTREMELY OBVIOUS that the Kung-Fu practitioner would lose. The same goes with the TKD practitioner; Muay Thai has elbows, knees with hours upon hours of sparring. The TKD practitioner put himself in a position where the fighting it's TOTALLY different from the training he is used to, so of course it OBVIOUS he would lose. YET if you were to have the BJJ and Muay Thai practitioner do point sparring or fight under Kung-Fu or TKD rules then of course the BJJ and Muay Thai would lose! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  12. I spar between 5 to 8 hours a week. Training in Sambo and competing in MMA tournaments I always have to be in shape and keep my techniques sharp. http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  13. I found 2 martial art mpeg's and I would like for you to see them and give an openion of what you think! 1) MMA vs. Kung-Fu, no pads or gloves. http://www.mcdojo.com/dl_goto.asp?id=23 2) Muay Thai vs. Taekwondo, gloves and full conatct Muay Thai rules. http://www.mcdojo.com/dl_goto.asp?id=5 http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG _________________ Tapout or pass out, it dosen't matter to me! 14. 8 to 12oz gloves are boxing golves. Grappling or MMA gloves only weight 2 or 3oz. http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  15. 8 oz gloves? What? In NHB you use grappling gloves, not boxing gloves! Quote: "And dont assume so much about what i know and dont know, it just makes you look arrogant. " What? I never assumed ANYTHING! I knew that you know nothing about NHB, thats the truth and you haven't disagreed with that! I have NO idea where you came up with the arrogant part, but what ever makes you happy. 12? where did you get 12 from? Like I said before, I'll say it again...stop talking s***! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG _________________ Tapout or pass out, it dosen't matter to me! 16. WHAT? what point? That your still talking s***? ZakariRu...Like I said, stop talking about NHB you know NOTHING about it. Oh and the reason why you haven't entered an NHB competition is because your afraid, afraid of getting beat up REAL BAD! Also don't look into anything for me, I know the sport and love it, so don't educate me on a subject you know nothing about. YET I DARE YOU TO ENTER AN NHB COMPETITION, CAUSE I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOUR BLOCK KNOCKED OFF! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  17. ramcalgary... the "slogan" I use is not the "Tapout" slogan, their slogan is "In ya face" and "An expression of combat". Any user name can be someone else's, also the phrase "Tapout" has been around MUCH, MUCH longer then the company! So PLZ sit back and relax! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG _________________ Tapout or pass out, it dosen't matter to me! 18. Quote: "There is nothing real about the ufc. especially the gracies they change the rules everytime they fight someone better than them. Real fights between grown folk usually start with a sucker punch, and 2 or 3 good friends right behind them... " ZakariRu.... WHY DO YOU COUNTINUE TO TALK ABOUT NHB, WHEN IT"S OBVIOUS YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT? Use your head and stick to what you know maybe you won't look so dumb! WOW you sound just like ALL those Karate, TKD and Kung-Fu schools that challenge us into (NHB) competition. The fighers club I attened has been challenge 14 times by other martial art dojo's/club, WHY? because they don't like us and think the same way you do ZakariRu! "it's not real fighting" Our fighters have lost once, ONCE, some guy from a Karate school beat our guy, ONCE out of 14 competitions againist these martial art studios. After the competitions we NEVER hear from them again. It's great practice before we fight competitions with real NHB fighters. Back to the subject! Nearly all the Gracies have stopped competing (except for Renzo and Rickson) due to rules and time limits, plus the Gracies don't own any MMA organization so how would they control the rules? Second STOP saying it's not real fighting cause it is, if you disagree then PLZ enter a MMA competition their are many out their just go to http://www.mma.tv to find some in you area. Since it's not "real fighting" as you put it, then you should be able to beat everyone up, right? () Some advice ZakariRu... stop talking S*** cause I can smell it from here! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG _________________ Tapout or pass out, it dosen't matter to me! 19. Hi metalhead, I'm new to the forum too...hope to chat it up with you! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  20. Taezee I agree 100% with you, you hit it on the bulls eye, I couldn't have said it better myself! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  21. Combative vs. Sports...mmm...? I will start with examples... Boxing is a sport yet it's combative... Judo is a sport yet it's combative... Kickboxing is a sport yet it's combative... NHB or MMA is a sport yet it's combative? OK, now won't it make all of these sports "combative sports"? The only arts that are pure combative are the ones trained in the military (Combat Sambo, Krav Maga, SAFTA...) These arts are made for survival on the streets and war, NO GI'S, NO KATA'S, NO BELTS, only combat survival techniques. Yet does it mean that their training is better then others or they can beat anyone up? NO NOT AT ALL no matter what art you know, no matter how many years you have trained in the martial arts, no matter if your a grappler, striker or both, no matter if you a Karate black belt, champion Boxer or a NHB fighter, if you get jumped by 10 guys your gonna get messed up, if you get a knife pulled on you your gonna get messed up, if you get shot at your gonna get messed up, if you pick a fight with some guy and all of his friends come after you your gonna get messed up. The only thing that's gonna save you from all of these events from happening to you is by using your intelligence! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  22. I've been in 4 street fights in my life and ALL of them ended up on the ground. The worst one of all was at a club, a guy was drunk and thought I was checking out his girl (I was, and she was FINE!) so he got all mad came up to me started swearing at me, and saying his "gonna kick my ass" I just turn around and went looking for my friends cause I knew their was going to be trouble. Yet as I took my second step (BANG) across my head, the punk hit me with a beer bottle (it hurt like a B****) I turned around I noticed it was him so I "shot" in for his legs took him down and it was all "ground and pound" from their. I messed his face up so bad that I had to throw away my shirt, cause it was full of his blood. The bouncers came and took me off him and outside, and I was told I could never come back to the club again (lucky for me no charges were pressed). I have no idea what happened to the guy that hit me with the beer bottle, he said he'll get me back but this happened 2 years ago and I'm still waiting! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  23. mmmmm...Tito Ortiz is...........ok, but he does lack skill, he chooses power over technique which against an extremely skilled opponent like Frank Shamrock will result in a lost, as it did to Tito. Yet I believe the best in MMA is Kazushi Sakuraba and Frank Shamrock! http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
  24. SORRY IT"S STILL FUNNY!
  25. The only two stances that work in my openion is an orthodox or southpaw stance, which is used in boxing and kickboxing. http://www.nhbcanada.ca/Photo%20Files/NHBshadow.JPG
